I know we are rebuilding, but all a I am reading is dump JT for 3 or 4th rounder. That is no value to us there, is no guarntee with draft picks. It looks like Merling was drafted to be a DE not to replace JT. Jt prefers to play the OLB now that's when he had his best year. So if the trade for JT is not for a future 1st or 2nd i won't do it. I could remember when a certain #13 was playing, he was a least 1 and half years past his prime and when Jimmy Johnson was trying to move in another direction everyone was in a rage about the posibility of a Marino trade. I think that is why we have this QB problem right now. We could have recieved at least a first rounder for Dan if we would have traded him when gettin was good but Jimmy didn't have the heart to do it. Now we anpther HALL FAMER that we should just let go for a 3rd or 4th I just dont't understand.

The rest of the league gave their feedback on JT yesterday. However, multiple picks today (3rd or 4th round picks) could be a worthy price. Taylor cold retire a Dolphin, but he wants to win the big one or just make the playoffs. The Dolphins will do neither this coming year. He will likely retire soon, and I don't see him playing after this year. It is a matter of getting what you can get, saddly to say. A couple of 3rds is not a bad return, and a 4th and a 5th with a 3rd may be the best they can get. Selfishly, the best return may be his mentorship, but he wants the playoffs.

But we also will get ZIPPO for him in next year's draft, so I expect his true value to be in an in-season trade just like Chambers last year. Hang onto him now that we can't get a 1st or a 2nd, but injuries may open a spot for him on someone's roster, or maybe two teams, which will be ideal, since that will drive up the price for JT. But expect him to be a in-season trade not and off-season one.

While he is a great player he is old, and people tend to not want to give up a player that can have ten years for a player who has a few left in him and might be breaking down.

I love taylor, i really do, but the man talked about retiring once already.

Whats better in your mind?

1. Taylor stays and we win 6 games and dont go to the playoffs (6 games is pushing it me thinks) and taylor retires at the end of the season, or

2. we trade taylor to a team that thinks they are 1 player away for a couple of low picks this year, maybe 2 3rd rounders, maybe something for next year, so that we continue to build in the bill parcells way.

:up::up::up::up: You read my mind...

Its pretty simple. First, he is a loose cannon. Hes a great player, but I think the organization is completely in the dark as to Jason's future plans. Is he planning on playing one more year? Two more years? Three? He has already said he wants to eventually be in Hollywood. So thats the first thing. Second, he is 34, and this team is getting younger EVERYWHERE. Third, as much as we love him, his play as gone down just a TOUCH. Not saying he is over the hill by any stretch, but he has fallen a bit, in particular his tackling. How many times did a RB shake him last year? Too many. And trust me, I know this is all very painful, much like it was with Zach, but we have to do whats best for the Miami Dolphins. Just like Parcells and Ireland, we cant worry about what you DID, but what you WILL DO.

Plus, this is a real deep draft. A 3rd and 4th (or something along those lines) will do wonders for us. I say pull the trigger.

Why didn't everyone fell this way about Marino?

Pure speculation here but possibly a move of JT to Philly for Lito Sheppherd? It could explain why we have not addressed the secondary yet.
