I want a good corner as much as anyone but getting a corner in free agency this year seems like a waste to me....the draft is loaded this year with very good and great corners and they won't cost as much.....It seems to me that we should spend our money on other areas like WR,LB and or a Guard since the draft is not as loaded this year as it is with corners.Again,I know we need a top corner and 2 if posible but I think the way to go this year is to DRAFT a corner and use the money in free agency for other areas...that's just my opinion.

Ozzy rules!!

No use in getting a corner in free agency, just go trough the draft like you say.

All the teams are putting the franchise tag on Corners anyway..trufant, the cb from the raiders, ect. Pats would have done it too if they could have with samuels.

samuels was gonna have no part of franchise tag again. i wouldnt mind finding a corner in FA considering we have no blanket corner.:shakeno:

the draft is always a good starting ground, but having solid vets around young corners is always good.

if we traded out of our #1 pick, i think that we should look at talib from kansas, he is real good:woot:

That has got to be the best post I have read regarding Free Agency.

Faneca should be priority #1. And I don't care if we even sign another FA. OK maybe a cheap WR because we could use some depth.

we have 44 million so you can spend on one big guy, how about the phins getting a patriot for once, they sign everybody including the cheerleaders from us

I really wanted Trufant-big contract and all. He will be solid for years to come. The Seahawks were smart to franchise him. That being said, I don't see any other FA corners worth the money that aren't tagged already. I think Samuels is overrated especially considering the money he will get. I'm just happy the Patsies will lose him.
I'm concerned we won't be able to draft a corner high enough in the draft with all of our other priorities and the talent levels at other positions. Can you say Chris Long #1 overall and Fred Davis with our second pick? That would make my year before it even starts.
I honestly don't see us addressing our secondary in Parcells year 1. Hopefully I'm wrong and this staff surpprises me.

I wantS a corner, because WE NEED A CORNER.

I said I want a corner too, just not in free agency....why over pay for one when you can draft one that will not cost as much? This draft have enough corners that you should get 1 in round 3

Yeah i agree with you bro there are some good corner's in the draft this year, we need to spend some money on the o/line like Faneca or Adams and maybe a WR, but we have to draft our way out of this mess.

If your going to get a corner in free agency then usually it it because you think he is good. Having the skills to be a corner is hard to come by. This position is probably housing the best athletes in to game. They need Excellent speed, agility, and strength. Finding a guy with all this talent is hard to come by. You don't see Champ Baileys very often. If I see a great young corner in Free Agency I would jump on it.

Why get a FA corner? Namely ... why get Asante? Will he cost a pretty penny? Yeah, he will. But the guy is an all-star, proven, shut down corner. You arent really garanteed a guy of that caliber when you draft one (Jason Allen).
Plus, whos to say there will be any good ones left when we pick? We arent taking one #1 overall, what if there is a bigtime run on CBs and by our 2 they are gone? What if there is another player in that spot we really want and have to pass on him or the CB?

Bottom line, if Ireland considers Samuel worth the money he will get, and thinks he can be a valuable asset to us, there is no reason NOT to draft him. Left everyone else take a CB in the draft while we pick one of the other positions instead, it all evens out really.

FA is about filling holes with quality players. Do you want to pay for an impact guy? A solid guy? A backup or special teamer? Find a guy you think can help and give him a check. Then when the draft rolls around you re-evaluate your needs and pick players that will come and help you out.

Why do I want a corner? In fact, lets just cut the **** here, Why do i want Samuals? Because i believe Samuals may very well be the best CB not named Bailey. Samuals would instantly make our secondary better, and we'd be able to cover guys like Moss, Evans, etc in our division more effectively.

More importantly, the draft is a crapshoot. Everybody wants Cromartie in this years draft, well guess what, he ain't going to be there by pick 32. Almost every team that made the playoffs could arguably draft him.

Samuals is a great player. I want great players in Miami.
