Why does Ireland still have a job?

Would you like to go over those drafts pick by pick? More starters than sitters and a few probowlers and possible a franchise QB.

There is actually some fact to my statement. We have talent on this team, and it WAS acquired by someone.

I could find 10 GMs that have done worse over that time.

Who are all these pro bowlers he's drafted and just because a crappy player starts for you doesn't mean he's not a crappy player. But I have a feeling no matter who he'd drafted you'd put on your teal glasses and defend it

So let's assume your right(which I don't) that you could name 10 gms that did worse. So that would still put him in the bottom third of gms. So you're ok with below average from your gm? Well youre an unabashed apologist so I know the answer to that. Dolphin homers, where below average is ok

So you're saying we have no talent on this team?

Guys like: R. Jones (5th round - Should've been PB last season), Odrick (stud this season - possible future PB), Wilson (7th round - contributes), Misi (solid player), Carroll, Pouncey (PB), Clay ( playing good for us this year ), Matthews (7th rounder contributing), Tanne ( I believe he's the real deal, obviously still has to prove alot), Vernon (good solid player), Miller has shown flashes - Definitely worthy starter, Jerry (starter).. The list goes on. OK some of these guys are just average players and they are starting.

This is just 10/11/12. Not going to evaluate the 13 draft.

We have a ton of good talent on this team and we can beat anyone in the league. You call me a homer and I call you a hater. I'd rather not hate the team I root for.

Lets look at the Patsies drafts:

2012 - Only two players drafted that they use regularly. Both average/slightly above average players in Hightower and Chandler Jones. Same as a lot of fins players.

2011 - 3 starters in that draft. Nate Solder (great tackle), Shane Vareen (good player but hurt), Stevan Ridley (good RB - not great)

2010 - 3 starters. Mccourty, Gronk, and Brandon Spikes.

Gronk and Solder being the only elite players they drafted. Also, littered in these drafts are failed attempts at drafting CBs (a ton).

How are we so much worse than the Pats GM? Never hear their fans lauding for his head. We have more starters and just as many elite selections as they do over these 3 drafts.

We need stability and were getting better through these drafts.

ok, tru that, but im saying in reference to this whole incognito sh**

Maybe he's not just referencing the "Incognito s***"

Even though that's just the icing on the cake of a long run of failures for Jeff. 4 straight losing seasons is tough to argue.

Ireland has nothing to do with this. It's just an opportunity for dumbasses who didn't like him to begin with to break the pitchforks back out. Go have a circle jerk with Mortenson and Schefter and get on your bully pulpit about things you know nothing about.

You mad?

I used 10 as a quick example, I know I could find atleast that. I actually have no clue how many and don't have the time to go through them.

It's beyond scary when someone leads off a list of Jeff Ireland successes with the name Reshad Jones.

Starting players of that caliber get you beat.

Brandon Gibson seems like a high character guy. I didn't know much about him in St. Louis but as soon as I heard the interviews I was impressed, and thought he'd surprise to the upside. That was a nice pickup. But the problem with Ireland is he doesn't make that type of player a priority throughout the roster. We may not lead the league in knuckleheads but we're always in the playoffs. One of the reasons we make questionable decisions to get rid of guys like Vontae Davis and Sean Smith is that their personalities are not exactly stable and it forces you to weigh that alongside their playing level.

In the early '70s we had guys like Tim Foley and Curtis Johnson throughout the roster. I realize those names won't mean much of anything now. If you heard them speak and watched them communicate on the field, and how devastated they were after a loss, you'd understand my ongoing frustration that we draft so many goofballs. Then we let a dedicated player like Reggie Bush walk.

I'm confused by this statement. Are you saying Jones is bad?

Questioning someones dedication, when you know little to nothing about them personally, is a slippery slope.

Yeah, it can also be tied to having the worst HC in recent memory. Not just for the Fins, the entire NFL, in Coach Sparano.

If you look at 2010 - present his drafts have actually been pretty good. When you look at starters vs people not in the league. Better than the Pats last few years, look it up.

ROTFLMAO......who picked Sparano? Oh wait, that was tuna....nothing is ever Ireland's fault.

Ozzy rules!!

Nothing Jones has done this season points to him being great. Since his paycheck, he's done nothing but cash it in and regress.

Blame for that belongs to both of them. Tuna and Ireland both made that decision I'd assume. Which was a horrible one. And Irelands drafts prior to 2010 were horrible, his fault also. I'm speaking about 2010 on. And there's plenty of things Ireland is at fault for.

He's on pace to exceed his tackles from last year. He got his first defensive score of his career this year. Yeah, he's only got 1 pick compared to 4 last year but picks are unpredictable and can come in bunches. He will get his by the seasons end.

I disagree that he's regressed. And the next time you call someone out for cashing in and not giving a **** provide some analysis, that is a lofty claim.

Awsi Vonte and Smith did not fit on Philbins team, that is not on Ireland. I personally beleive we should have kept Vonte because the kid had talent and was just a bit immature which the immaturity can be coached the talenent cannot. Everytime you churn a new a coach or GM you basically are turning over your roster again which is what we did last year and why we have some of the holes this year.

There is an argument that can be made that ireland has NEVER drafted ANY player at ANY position who would be a starter for ANY other club in this league.

Pouncey MIGHT be a starter for some teams. Tannehill would be a #2 in most cases. Some teams wouldn't have even drafted him at all.

Our RBs are second-string level. Hartline is not a 1 or 2 for most franchises.

His only real standout success even in free agency has been Wake.

This is in FOUR DRAFTS. He does not deserve a fifth.

because ross is a mouse and ireland knows what his favorite cheese is!!
