I really don't understand why Lazor abandon's the running game once the Dolphins are down by 10 points. Doesn't he know we have a mediocre QB. Sad part is.... We're averaging 5.5 YPC. I'm sure you all will say my answer. Cause Lazor sucks. As a professional. How can you be so stupid. Can there be a logical answer for this. Seems every time we're down 10-0. Miller runs the ball 7-10 times.

That was well put. They really need to treat RT the same way that Shula jr and the Panthers deal with their QB.

LIMIT what he is asked to do, because he can only do so much

Crazy as it sounds, one of Lazor's biggest problems is trusting RT too much, and asking him to be something that he is not

He trusts him so much, he doesn't let him audible. Yep, makes sense.

He's an undisciplined football theorist rather than an actual coach grounded in the game. Why does he call bubble screens with no blocking that rely either on surprise (not likely since we do it all the time), outsmarting the D (impossible cause Lazor), or wholesale incompetence by the secondary and LBs (blind luck is not the best strategy to take). A strong commitment to the run game dictates what the game will be. Lazor is more interested in attempting to outsmart the opponent in an effort to satisfy his giant ego. Considering it never works, you have to wonder what that says about his intellect. We play a horizontal offense with no tempo... Way to go, Lazor.

Bill Lazar = Jeffery Bowden Part II.

Longtime FSU fans understand this.

IMHO, any coach who does not stress the running game is a terrible one. Unless you have a Tom Brady, you run first. Run the damn ball!!!!!!!

Yeah, I am going to need you to elaborate just a tad...I mean, what CAN'T he do? I agree, he is one of the most.....gosh I don't even know what word to use...awkward? Un-coordinated? Most unmobile mobile qb? when it comes to moving in a pocket. And I certainly would like to see more urgency and HIM take control when it comes to being able to call a timeout when he needs to...he needs to wrench it from Lazor if need be, and by that saying **ck you to Lazor during a two minute drill, so be it. If it gets him benched, so be it....thats what I would do if I were him...if I am going down, I'm going down a different way that what is being played out now. I don't usually condone that attitude when it comes to coaches and players, being a HS coach myself. But this is insane. I highly doubt he would call(or not call) them in a more ridiculous time during a game than what we have witnessed the last couple years. But other than that well known weakness, what CAN'T he do? Trust...to audible? Throw deep? Call timeouts? I just think Lazor is stubborn as they come. We have ALL seen what has worked, and what doesn't. Yet he seems to like the "what doesn't" more than he likes the "has worked", and there is no other explanation other than being stubborn.

I don't get it....

This doesn't make any sense

Because he's not patient and disciplined, pain and simple, you can't win and win constantly in this league without a running game.

I wonder if Campbell regrets not firing Lazor. His chances of becoming head coach are being torpedoed by Lazors awful play calling. Tannehill has been underwhelming but we should of been able to win in Buffalo and beat Dallas with competent play calling. The failure to run the ball, the horizontal passes, and unwillingness to get out of shotgun on every down should earn him his pink slip.

Let's be honest people, if Miami leaned heavily on the running game we're not winning a lot of games either. Sure miami has a high yards per carry, but we've also seen a number of drives backed up after a poor first down run has left the team in second and long. It's not like the running game is constantly leaving the team in second or third and short situations.

What RT can't do is pretty obvious,

it is in black and white.

He can't convert 3rd downs by passing with any degree of consistency.

He can't read the defense and pull the trigger on the match up that will convert.

He doesn't run for 3rd downs, or extend plays or do anything other than EXACTLY what he is told to do.

He doesn't compete for 3rd downs, he just runs the play that was called and walks back to the bench.

I can say, with much confidence, that you have no idea what's actually going on behind the scenes with Tannehill and Lazor, and what Lazor has schematically asked Tannehill to do.
