Why does our front office keep replying to false reports?

To a degree you are correct. But many of those same fans get up and leave in the 3rd qtr or in some cases don't show up until the 3rd qtr of games. And you don't have to be hardcore to participate in a 'protest'. You just have to have no responsibilites and looking to get your 15mns of fame.

But like Vaark has said and this board is proof of it. You have your kind who think this team and franchise suck and are lost in the woods. And then you have someone like me who thinks things will get better and this team doesn't suck. Your posts the past year have been nothing short of team bashing. This board is a tiny sample of what the MIA fanbase is, 2 extremes, with people who believe as you do, being the loudest.
Makes sense, but are fans that leave in the midst of a snoozefest with the Browns or Broncos fairweather? Or have they just had enough of the product on the field? Heck, imo anyone that shows up to a 1PM heatfest to watch this team kick 4 FGs, while losing home game after home game, has to be a little closer to hardcore than fairweather.

How about we put the blame game to rest , have a great draft and trust the new coach knows what he's doing.
A few wins to start the season will do wonders to fix these problems. We wanted a change and got it. I'm willing to give them a chance. If they screw it up unleach the hounds.

There was a rumpur that Jeff Ireland was looking for acorns on Miami Beach, and saw Brett Mercuri throwing the football and liked what he saw

I agree completely. He is very obviously focused on what the media have to say. The problem is that he knows absolutely nothing about being the owner of a professional sports team.

Most owners knows nothing about being the owner of a professional sports team in the beginning. Ross has admitted to making mistakes and like the others has a willingness to learn. Ross is talking to other owners on the proper way to conduct business in the NFL and if you and others will give him a little more time, he just might get it right.

Hardcore is sitting through a heatfest? Sorry, when I see more people at a KC/MIA game in NOV/DEC and the weather is -20 below, hardcore and MIA home fan boys don't register.

You can use whatever excuse you want. The local fan base in MIA is fickle to be kind.

The fact you think any game in MIA is a 'heatfest' goes to prove my point. Humidity is one thing, but heat is quite another. And MIA isn't KC/DAL in Sept much less December.

Most fanbases are fickle. Markets such as KC and Buffalo are more the exception than the rule. How many Yankee fans showed up to games in the 1980s when they were horrid? How many hardcore Colts/Pats fans filled their stadiums in the early 1990's? The Celtics are the NBA darlings with an unbelievable winning tradition and some of the most hardcore fans around, but tickets to their games weren't hard to come by in the 90's and early 2000's when that team stunk out loud.

Fickle, hardcore, whatever. In this economy, with rampant joblessness and forclosures, I'm not going to look down at people for choosing not to spend their discretionary income on a brutal product. Surely you've seen the 30k-season-tickets thread, lowest since before Shula arrived. Are the fans more fickle now than they were in 2007, team going through a 1-15 campaign, yet still sitting on twice the number of season tickets sold than today? The fanbase is clearly voting with their wallets. Lets stop blaming the fans because the team sucks.

I think it our F.O. playing games on other teams. They are using psychological warfare through the media, the media calls us stupid, fans over react and the own er and F.O. are loving it because it sets up their plan.

No one has a clue who we are going to select, so that opens limitless trade offers to us and around us! If Seattle or KC desperately believe we are taking Tanne then they give up ridonkuluous picks to a bad team, if other teams are afraid we may take fletcher cox or gilmore or whomever, their getting nervous and start to feel the need to trade to get the guy they have gameplanned for.

Value has set the market on these draft picks, teams drafting in the middle have put extensive work on guys projected to be middle first guys, prolly more so than high 1st round guys, so when there are teams above them that are wild cards, and no one seems to have a read on, it makes people nervous and they may "go and get their guy" in a trade up.

I will say that I believe Ireland is a master poker player, he can take being ridiculed and scorned and talked about as a douche....and Dez Bryant and fans still think he is....which he may be....but its certainly obvious that so is Mr. Dez Bryant himself. And I don't know about you, but I think its incredibly ballsy to ask a grown-ass man especially one of Bryants character and size to ask him to his face about his mother's hobbies or was it/is it professional career choice! LOL!

Jeff places a premium on value, if the value is not there he won't gamble on it, and if we already had a QB, he'd be the perfect GM for us, because thats exactly what you want! It's just we are cursed until we get our QB, so it seems.

There is just no pleasing some. If he answers, he's a bum. If he doesn't answer, he's a bum. Other than winning on the field, there is nothing the Fins organization can do, say, not do, not say that someone won't bitch about. The post-draft threads are going to be something else! Half will be convinced the players will be probowlers and Ireland is a rock star and the other half will be convinced Ireland needs to be fired and his draft choices will be delivering pizzas within two years. And, of course, everyone will speak in absolutes.

The KC/MIA game was a few years ago. Also I have been to plenty to of MIA games in other cities. And MIA by and far is terrible about supporting their football team. Goto DEN and see that city when KC or OAK come to town. Goto DAL and see what happens when PHI or WAs come to town. The local MIA fanbase is fickle and is represented here quite well. The threads of boycotting games here only reinforce my perception. The last straw was seeing people actually use talking points being used here, showing up from those faux fans Occupying Davie.

KC and BUF are just like many other fanbases throughout the NFL, MIA is the exception.

Meh, it is what it is. You represent the part of the fan base that is represented by the media right now. And its proven day in and day out with your constant team bashing.

Perhaps, and you represent part of the fanbase that cannot see the constant losing and mismanagement that's in front of your face. You see 2 winning seasons in 8 years, a 2nd rebuild headed by the very GM that created the need for this rebuild, and still faithfully suggest the team is heading in the right direction. And its proven every day with your constant blind faith. I don't need the media to tell me this team has been a disaster.

Recognizing what this team is doesn't make us fickle, and wearing blinders doesnt make you hardcore.

No, I just love my Phins. Unlike the local fanbase in good times or bad, rarely even show up. I will be going to CIN and BUF this year to watch MIA. Unlike you, it isn't blind faith. Its rooting for my favorite team to win and succeed. I don't follow anything on blind faith, except God. I was one of the early few who to this day still thinks 08 set this team back years. Eventually, you have to get over yourselves and either move on or jump on. Sitting here constantly bashing your 'favorite' team is abit old. You offer nothing outside of the constant, this team sucks rant.

MIA is what is. Bad decisions here and there can do that to a franchise. From Wanny to Saban to Sporano, this franchise hasn't been able to get it right for some time. I know that, but I also don't need to come on here and constantly whine about it, nor do I have to go Occupy Davie to get my point across.

But do what you do.

It's like political instincts...you aren't necessarily born with them. This reminds me of John Kerry in 2004. He ignored one theme and attack for months, with no clue they were steadily doing minor damage. Then once the media started to focus on his lack of response, Kerry awkwardly thought he had to speak to everything, often multiple times per day on the most trivial of matters.

We'll be fine once Joe Philbin assumes role as spokesman. The first press conference after he was hired should have been enough of a hint to protect the microphone from the two buffoons.

LOL at the suggestion that I'm anything but a hardcore Dolphins fan. I live and die with this team, and sometimes that is just unfortunate , I can assure you. That goes for many others I've observed for years and years on this website who were the biggest cheerleaders here and sopped up all the coachspeak and rhetoric while watching disaster after disaster, until they snapped.

I hold out hope that Philbin is everything he's being held up to be, and can overcome personnel issues with good coaching and leadership, and that's what I have to grasp on to, because Ross and Ireland just continue to make this team look bad.

You're mistaking valid, fair critiscism with being a fairweather fan, but you go ahead and do what you do.
