I'll be honest, I know nothing about this guy. But either the defensive schemes suck or the guys in the uniforms suck. I mean, for some reason I expected the defense to be solid. To me, it seems like the safeties, especially Bell, sucks. I think the line is talented. I guess the only real players you could say are the stars of the defense are Jason Taylor and Joey Porter, but still the defense has been a let down to me.

What do you guys think of the D Coordinator?

I think we need to continue to give the defense time and give the front office time to build. First offseason, we built up the line and we are now number 1 in stopping the run.

This past offseason was invested in the secondary, and its goign to take alot of time for that unit to gel. We have two young studs in davis and smith and hopefully wilson will work out and that will be a very good secondary.

This offseason, I believe we will upgrade our linebackers and that will really help our defense out.

Honestly, We played a pretty good game defensively yesterday. Those two fake punts kept the defense on the field when they shouldnt of been, we got screwed by that dumb PI call, and braylon just made an amazing catch on that one play.

Sucks? I don't know about that we are really solid against the run and I still think the secondary will get it together the more playing time the rooks get under their belts.

Find another team like Pittsburg etc or the Pats when they are super bowl bound so you can stay happy. Every team has issues ours are being addressed just not on your calender. Lets see we are ranked #1 or #2 against the run on defense but fair weather fans don't notice those things.

i'm sorry.

Our safties suck.

I cannot explain to you how frustrated they had me last night. (Don't get me wrong that was one of the best Miami Dolphin games I have ever seen.)

Porter and Taylor we're also nowhere to be found. Not much pressure was applied to Sanchez.

I'm not sure if the safties continually got beat because of a lack of pressure or because they cannot cover.

Bell could not cover to save his life. I have not seen Gibril do anything this year but tackle someone after they make the catch or scamper for a 10 yard run. Sean Smith will come into his own. Will Allen is above average. Vontae is doing alright.

Our tackling as a team needs to improve as well.

I thought we didn't do that great of a job last night against the run at all, compared to what we had seen in previous weeks. Washington was continually getting into the secondary on 5-7 or more yard runs.

As far as the secondary goes, we need to capitalize on the opportunities. Allen continues to prove he has stone hands, as he should have had a pick against Edwards deep in Jets territory but allowed Edwards to rip the ball out of his hands. We HAVE to make those plays. Bell IIRC dropped an INT too but there was an illegal contact penalty called on Allen I think during that play.

I think we did a great job securing the future with Smith and Davis but the turnover in our secondary has hurt them this season thus far. Maybe we can win with a strong ground game and give them more time to gel. Bell, while a tackling machine, has stone hands as well and wilson doesn't appear to be a ball hawk. I think we need to "upgrade" our safeties or at least bring in some competition. We need an Ed Reed or the like into this team.

Well to be fair, 17 of the 27 points we gave up came from drives kept alive from fake punts and then a BS pass interference call for a lot of yards. They fake punts were nice plays and worked out well for them, but you just can't rely on that, the points they got from those drives that were kept alive could have easily turned into great field position for us.

I think we need to try some players, like more Cameron Wake and Quentin Moses, (to bring pressure to the QB), then use a cover safety like Culver or Clemons instead of Bell or Wilson, finally I think that Torbor for Ayodele would be good. Keep the DL rotation and have Porter/Taylor on one OLB side, on the other (Wake/Moses/Anderson), Crowder and Torbor on the ILB, CB #1 Sean Smith, #2 Will allen, #3 Davis (Not Nate Jones), and #4 Jason Allen. Safeties Wilson/Bell SS Culver/Clemons/Allen FS. That being said we are the #15 total defense on the NFL, not to bad if you consider we have faced Indy, San Diego and Atlanta.

Langford, Starks and Merling have been better than Taylor and Porter.

Our safeties leave a lot to be desired in coverage. They have improved since week 1 and if you recall, it wasn't until about mid-season last year they started performing well. We have 3 new guys in the secondary and it's going to take them a few games to get in sync with each other.

That's a really good O-line we faced last night, every bit as good as ours. Shiftier backs like Washington and Jones were going to slip through small cracks and elude arm tackles. I was nervous that that was going to happen and happy we were able to gang-tackle against huge gains.

Our safeties are horrible and it's obvious we lack speed and explosiveness in that area. Also, why is it every time Porter and Taylor are together on the field, they do nothing?

Lastly, Paul P is horrible at disguising our schemes. Great Qb's like Manning and Co. eat us up in that department.

At times this year have been less than impressed with Will Allen, Yeremiah Bell and Gibril Wilson. Sean Smith has a great future but needs to get stronger and learn how to tackle. Channing Crowder had a much better game than usual in my opinion, getting in the backfield a few times and disrupting plays. The game reminded me of the Indy game where we controlled the clock and scored what should have been enough points to win, but then giving up huge plays or penalties on defense and letting it almost slip away. Next yr in the draft for defense hope to see another CB, definitely ILB and prob OLB and NT.

The final score does not reflect the game. The Dolphins pounded the Jets for 400+ yards of offense. Sanchez only completed 50% of his passes and it was two fake punts and a blown PI call that gave them 17 points. This could easily have been a blowout and that's why the Jets are pissed. They were humiliated after talking the big talk and folding on the field.

Isn't it hilarious to see them fall apart like this? They better get over this and get focused on the Bills or they may lose their 3d straight.
