Seems like every week Miami is the only team where their WRs never seem to be wide open, not even by accident. If they do make a catch their hit immediately it seems. You look at the Chiefs, Saints, Steelers, Patriots and Rams and they are always setting pick plays to get their WRs open. Does Miami do this? Seems like in the rare instances they do, it’s poorly done so that Offensive PI is called instead. I just don’t understand it.

It is maddening that no one seems to be open, then after they punt all you see is 7-15 yard passes caught with defenders completely out of the frame...

Going to blame coaching and talent, but mostly coaching.

Stills put up good numbers against NE a week ago. Losing Wilson and Grant tho, has limited this receiving core. Wilson's loss has really hurt.

They are...o.p.e.n.

I don't know if it's so much about scheming receivers open or doing things that lead to a bust in coverage. For years now it seems like opposing defenses are rarely facing a situation that is challenging enough to lead to a bust in coverage. It like some secondary's find reading an offense like reading Tolstoy, while they read Miami's offense like See Dick Run. Or it could be opposing defenses do bust coverages but Miami qbs either don't have the time to locate it or do a poor job recognizing it if it's not busted at the primary read.

None of these guys are getting great separation imo. I felt when Wilson and Grant were playing they were getting a little more open. You’re right though it doesn’t seem like schemes are giving them much help. Also the o-line doesn’t give them a lot of time to come free with pressure on nearly every play

Without access to the all 22, guys are getting open. the quarterbacks mental clock isn't fast enough and the offensive line is atrocious.

why's Mike Tannenbaum still here? why still not wearing the OG logo? why still the Wide-9? why why why why why???

To state the obvious, it's a combination. When Wilson and Grant can't get separation, that can't be a speed/quickness problem. When Drake and Gesicki have problems with LBs, that's not on the receivers. I'm growing tired of missing 'receiver A was open,' not knowing where that receiver was in the QB's progression.
At times, it seems the secondary knows the routes at the snap. The don't bite on any fakes and just track the route.
OTOH, I'll not absolve the receivers. Some routes don't look crisp. Some look rounded when they should be square.
Screen 'passes' are passes, but they don't work in Miami. It seems much of that is poor blocking.
All in all, when Gase is wearing his conservative hat, nothing works. If I can frequently guess the play, I'm sure a veteran DC can.

Looking back at the Minnesota game. Opposing DCs are just not concerned with Tannehill beating them. No one plays zone against Miami. They dare Tannehill to beat them.

You can ask why of a lot of **** in regards to Miami. I wonder why Gase and TBum are still not fired.

Why are they not more open indeed...

That guy who posted the mock video of Tom Brady the other week was showing his completions and how wide open those guys were...seriously Brady just had to flick the ball 3-5 yds and no more than 10 yds to guys with 15 yds running room after the catch before anyone touched them.

Pay attention to it sometime...Its eye opening when you really see how easy it is for the one some call the G.O.A.T
