why doesnt tannehill scramble?

i specifically remember tannehill leaving 6 points on the board on a play vs. Tampa bay. He could have just stepped through the mess and cruised into the endzone untouched. Instead he threw a ****ty pass

I remember telling my friend when we were watching the game about how if we just busted out a package on even just 1 series with tannehill moving around/scrambling that we would have beaten tampa by at least 14 points
He definitely should have run that one in or gotten it real close. Perhaps he's tired of getting hit at this point?

I don't think he can sense pressure well. If he could learn to extend plays more, he'd be that much more effective because he can run and he can throw on the run. Hopefully he can get better at this part of his game + having an NFL caliber offensive line would probably help as well.

Unfortunately I don't think that it is learned. You either sense pressure or you don't. I don't profess to understand how it is sensed, but Ryan consistently gets caught whereas some other QBs like Roethlisberger, Brady, Luck, etc can sense the pressure. One of the very best was Favre, who would regularly look like he was getting sacked but could get it away. I welcome other opinions but my hunch is that you have that sense or you don't.

He said himself he worked on staying in the pocket more. I think he is trusting an untrustworthy o-line. The pressure either gets there so quick he can't feel it or the pressure comes from the middle and can't run anywhere. A few sacks and pressures are on Tannehill but most are from the o-line.

This post is 100% accurate...........Rt does not have pocket awareness and unfortunately it cant be taught or learned.

It would be easy to discard Tannehill as another QB bust, but I would like to see him with a decent O line and a more creative OC before tossing him aside. He has some decent weapons to throw to this year, but the Oline play and a stubborn, predictable OC make it hard to completely judge him this year.

Right. Sherman needs to go maybe we should have thill just call the plays in the huddle it would probobly produce more points than good ole Sherman's horrid decisions in critical moments

Sherman is saving the big scrambling run for the playoffs.
