I find it funny how some of you guys act like keeping or getting FAs is a great thing or leads to success. Two of the teams that are basically anti-free agency (NE and PHI) are two of the better franchises right now at getting a lot out of their teams. In a NFL world where FAs are making a lot more than they are really worth it is better to build from within. FAs might help immediately but long term it is better to build from within.
-I also think Pittsburgh shows this too.
(Yes I know how giving credit to other teams on this board, especially to the Pats, is most likely not a good idea. But seriously, look at how a lot of the top franchises do it. They don't over pay free agents, they use the draft to restock and rebuild. And getting compensatory picks helps with that. I mean think about it a FA is someone who's current team basically doesn't want to pay them what they want, they don't see that player worth that money. Funny thing is they know more about that player, knowing exactly what they can do than anyone else. FAs, as a whole, are teams send-offs yet other teams are always happy to overpay and take them. Teams who live through free agency, teams like the Redskins. Those who live through the draft, the Patriots. Which would you rather emulate?)
