N.E. always gets some but we never do. I don't remember the last time we recieved compensatory draft picks?

well we signed more free agents then we lost...they always lose free agents but never sign that many.

Because we are one of the lucky teams who doesn't lose alot of FA's.

Thanks to the Wanny/Spielman era the phins don't have any good young backups that other teams want to sign away from us.

It isn't Taglibue's fault that Wanny and Spielman sucked and no one wants to raid our free agents.

Because every year, out of every 10 FA, probably 8 of them have Miami as one of their top 5 places to go, and of those 8, 3-4 have them on the top of their list. Miami always gets back more then they lose.

was disgusted when I saw the picks the Steelers are receiving. Who the hell did they lose to get all those quality picks?

Oh, Kendrell Bell who played sparingly b/c of injuries for Pit the year before KC over-payed for him. I can't think of anyone else really.

They also lost Plaxico Burress who signed like a $30 million deal and as previously mentioned, they lost Kendrell Bell to the Chiefs for like a $20-30 million dollar deal. I also wanna say they lost a lineman or someone else. My best friend is a Pittsburgh fan and he cleared everything up when I started to complain that we never get compensation picks.

getting players in FA instead of losing them.. maybe thats the secret to why we win more games than any other team. Shhh dont tell anyone.Keep it on the DL.

I find it funny how some of you guys act like keeping or getting FAs is a great thing or leads to success. Two of the teams that are basically anti-free agency (NE and PHI) are two of the better franchises right now at getting a lot out of their teams. In a NFL world where FAs are making a lot more than they are really worth it is better to build from within. FAs might help immediately but long term it is better to build from within.

-I also think Pittsburgh shows this too.

(Yes I know how giving credit to other teams on this board, especially to the Pats, is most likely not a good idea. But seriously, look at how a lot of the top franchises do it. They don't over pay free agents, they use the draft to restock and rebuild. And getting compensatory picks helps with that. I mean think about it a FA is someone who's current team basically doesn't want to pay them what they want, they don't see that player worth that money. Funny thing is they know more about that player, knowing exactly what they can do than anyone else. FAs, as a whole, are teams send-offs yet other teams are always happy to overpay and take them. Teams who live through free agency, teams like the Redskins. Those who live through the draft, the Patriots. Which would you rather emulate?)

Well hate to ruin your year next year but I doubt we will get any next year either. We have not lost many guys to pure free agency because we have cut or traded any players of any worth. Last year we signed Kevin Carter and lost Morlon greenwood. The year before we lost Todd Wade and signed McIntosh, Jeno James and Reggie Howard ugh. You have to lose decent free agents and not sign many to get this kind of compensation.
