Why Frerotte needs to be QB...

You come at me with insults....you get them right back, Mr. Class.

I'll always defend Feeley against the people who hate him for hates' sake, and those that think a 4th string QB playing against college players is better than Feeley playing against real NFL players.

Maybe I should explain it to you! Saying someone is an apologist that is an apologist does no equate to saying something derrogotory about someones mother.

I am a Feeley supporter. Last night he looked ok. If Thompson makes that catch, LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE, Feeley looks a lot better.

Gus looked better last night. The team chemistry looked somewhat better with him as well. We can't count on luck though....the TD pass was luck. It could just as easily went the other way.

We still have a lot of preseason and practice left. If you want to count preseason wins.....Gus 1 Feeley 0

Let's see what happens when Gus starts.

starting gus wouldnt help allieviate who our qb in the long term will be.

im for starting one of the young guys to see if they can be the qb of the future.

This is ridiculous. If Derrius Dropsum had caught that pass, Feely would have looked like the second coming. Everyones main problem out there with AJ, was that he made mistakes. Well, guess what? He didn't make any out there last night, he played smart football. Ferrote got lucky on a number of plays, especially the touchdown and safety that should have been. Ferrote also had only one series where there were a FEW starters in. Feely did nothing too lose the job and Ferrote's biggest accomplishments were soley on luck.

I don't care who wins the job, just base your analysis on facts.

haha too true, i dont understand most of the people here... im all for whoever is the better man to get the QB job but the unfair bias feeley gets i feel i have to defend him, then people call me a feeley lover... its dumb, these people need to stop using bias and actually watch whats going on...

with that catch feeley is 5-7 with 55 yards at least, the drive would have probably continued and if we weren't getting comptely stuffed in the running game at the time we most likely woulda scored, cause really we were able to do whatever we wanted in the passing game at that time...

but again it is only preseason game 1... we'll see as time goes on

in gus we trust ....well for 2005 anyway....who knows, maybe he turns in the this years version of rich gannon....interesting indeed.

Im thinking Id rather have Ferotte. Did you notice his movement in the pocket, something AJ dosent have. Gus seems to be able to run the offense better and it's not just beacuse he's familiar witht he offense. I think that Gus will make the most of this oppertunity to finallly be a starter in theis league. I like AJ, just think that Gus is more polished.

Guys...The real problem with Feeley is that he can't get his mind out of his A$$. I say that because every play, Feeley is dancing around and waiting to be sacked or hit. He has no presence in the pocket. He's nervous as anything, hence the reason he wings it so hard...he wants to get rid of the ball. I know that the OL didn't play well, but still...Frerotte had the same line and he just looked calm. Frerotte had two or three dropped passes...he could have finished the game with like 90% completion. Plus he showed longevity with the long drives. Feeley doesn't have that kind of composure. And brock and sage were in there against cheerleaders so it doesn't show much. Pre-season is so anti-climactic...you wait so long for it, but within the first couple minutes you realize it doesn't mean much because the talent isn't in there and the opposition isn't trying it's hardest. Still a fun game to watch. Roth and crowder looked good.

Wow it's amazing how somone's hatred/love for a player blinds them from what really happened.

All the QB's played well last night. Feeley looked good...he had excellent zip on the balls and put them where they needed to be. He also smartly threw the ball away to the right place where defender could get it when he was getting sacked.

Gus did have better control of the offense and looked calm in the pocket. To be fair though, during most of Gus's plays, he was playing with the 2nd string o-line against a lot of 2nd string defenders.

Sage looked ok. It was his usual good job against 3rd-4th stringers

Berlin looked good out there.
I was VERY surprised. I thought he was going to stink it up, but he managed to do a lot of good stuff out there and had a quick release. Of course the pick hurt, but overall it was a good performance.

Or maybe a side step of a LB and a 40 yard pass to chambers....but close...thanks for playing.

Sidestep? Frerotte didnt even move.

Dont get me wrong, Frerotte outplayed Feeley yesterday, but honestly not by much.. His lone TD was all luck and GILMORE.

The main difference between Gus and AJ last night was their demeanor in the pocket. Gus looked much more relaxed. I thought AJ 's balls had more zip on them.

Had Thompson caught that ball their numbers would be similar.

People dont hate him. He just isnt a NFL QB. Hes a backup who was overpaid for by your personal favorite, Rick Spielman.

But Spielman is gone, Feeley will be forgotten in a couple weeks, and there will be nothing left except a giant bowl of tater salad with some crow on the side.

This just shows how intensely you defend your friend Feeley.

Objectivity never should get in the way.

When Brock Berlin outplays you it should be obvious that the only future Feeley SHOULD have is resting his sore butt on the pine bench.

Nice and classy comment!

I don't care who you support at the QB position, but that was just a rediculous comment. Berlin was playing the 4th team and looked decent against a bunch of guys that won't make the final roster on their team. Start Berlin against the first group D and see how he does

I seem to remember another QB that looked great against the backup squad and who everyone thought would be an amazing starter....what was his name...oh yeah, Ray Lucas. He turned out well :shakeno:

He has ABSURD LUCK.. Something Feeley, for whatever reason, whether it be kharmic or otherwise, does not have..

For instance, 'It's funny,'' Frerotte said. ``I wasn't really throwing to him. It just kind of slipped off my hand and floated that way and [Gilmore] made a great catch. I was throwing to the tight end who was sitting in the middle. When I stepped to my right, the ball slipped out of my hand and went to [Gilmore].''

Feeley makes this SAME slipped throw, and its intercepted and returned for 100 yards..

Feeley throws a perfect pass to Thompson - DROPPED... Frerotte throws a perfect pass to Thompson - CAUGHT.

A defender misses a sack on Frerotte in the endzone... that defender doesnt miss that sack on Feeley..

Chambers makes an AWESOME catch on Frerotte's underthrown ball... A Bear's LB makes an AWESOME cath on that same underthrown ball if Feeley throws it..

I dont know what Feeley did in the past to garner such atrocious luck, but its real.. Until that bad luck wears off, Frerotte is the starter.

Frerotte does need to be the qb he has the experience of a two time prob bowler,i think, not only that but feely just throws to many dam int.
