1-A Hobbled Tannehill is Likely to be Rusty;
one of his constants has been his affinity for making plays on the move. Ryan Tannehill’s athleticism is his “X-factor”

2-Matt Moore is a Solid Quarterback. He led his team to two 34 point performances, including Week 16’s instant classic that ultimately rewarded the Dolphins in a playoff berth.I think he's decent that's all decent back up.

3-Starting Injured Quarterbacks in the Playoffs Has Backfired in the Past.
The three examples of starting injured quarterbacks in the playoffs that come to mind are Philip Rivers in the 2007 AFC Championship game, Robert Griffin III in the 2012 Wild Card and Ben Roethlisberger in the 2014 Wild Card.

4-The Dolphins Are Just Getting Started.
The Miami Dolphins are not a fluke. They have talent on both sides of the ball, have a young nucleus to build around and are coached by one of the most capable coaching staffs in the entire NFL. However, if they risk playing Tannehill and he ends up tearing a ligament in his knee, their bright future would be jeopardized.

I agree w all of the points. Regardless of who plays QB, if we win it will be because we made plays on both sides of the ball.

He's starting Matt Moore because our starter is injured .

No rocket science here . Same reason why the Raiders are starting their backups

All in with MM , Tanny isn't ready and i don't want to risk further injury. It is what it is.

It's a in progress decision for Gase he has to weigh all the facts which can change daily and go with the best remaining choice.

Ease up on the OP. I think the point is that this team is not looking like a one-year wonder.

This is just the first step. For the Dolphins, for Gase, and for Tanny.

Here's hoping they have to drag us from the playoffs kicking and screaming.

#### everyone else. Go Fins.

Matt Moore is the right choice, but it would suck for one either way. For the record, Tanne is the better QB but it is not by an astronomical amount and he is hurt. That being said, Moore who has been a back up for most of his career could have and maybe should have been a starter for about half the teams out there. He gets a chance and has made the most of it and deserves to be starting this playoff game.

On the flip side Tanne had to fight his way from being a very solid receiver to becoming a QB and worked hard to be drafted where he was. He has been brutally beaten for most of his career behind historically bad lines made worse by injury and managed to still stay relatively healthy. He finally gets a respectable line (after the 5th game) and a running game and proceed to lead a 7-1 rampage that put us in position for the playoffs and then gets taken out by a freak low hit. All that he has been through and the beating he has taken over his first 5 years in the league, to not being playing in the teams first playoff game during his tenure just sucks! He also absolutely deserves to be starting this game!

The good thing is these are 2 legitimately genuine dudes that pull for each other and put the team first. Real pros, the both of them. We are blessed to have 2 QBs that we can win with. I feel horrible for Tanne, but also am happy for Moore....and bottom line is at this point, he is definitely the best choice!

This.

How can you NOT root for this guy at this point?

Ryan was a good compliment to Ajayi's running. Simple as that. We didn't get to the playoffs off Ryan's arm. I love Ryan and looks forward to him killing it next year. But Moore provides enough to complement Ajayi. This isn't a tough choice.

We got to the playoffs because of a balanced attack. Teams found out that the Dolphins could beat them either way. That is harder to defend. This year was a continuation of portions of the two previous seasons. When Tannehill has a healthy and effective OL, the offense thrives, whether there is a 200 yard rushing performance or not. There is now roughly 16 or 17 games of evidence of this going back over the last three seasons. It is not a coincidence. When the OL is healthy they win and do it with a balanced attack.

Ryan Tannehill cant run. That's why Moore is starting.
