Has anyone heard anything about Ken Hamlin's status?? Posters have been very up on Hamlin here yet I've heard nothing from around the NFL of any scheduled visits or meetings between Hamlin and teams. If anyone has anything new, I would appreciate a post. Thanks in advance.

I wish I knew why. He is one of the top 3 FA Safeties and I haven't heard much about where he might be headed to. He would be a great addition to this team.

i would love to get this guy. I think he will come pretty cheap and would help out our secondary alot. With him we can move j.allen to cb and be set on defence. Then we could focus on the offense in the draft

Could this be the reason?

Controversy surrounded Hamlin due to an altercation that allegedly took place between Hamlin and two unidentified men in a Seattle nightclub on October 17, 2005. According to a police report, Hamlin and his girlfriend were leaving the club at about 2 A.M., several hours after the Seahawks defeated Houston. Hamlin's girlfriend told officers that Hamlin placed a hand on another man's shoulder and said, "Excuse me." The man told Hamlin to stop pushing, and the two men began shoving each other. According to the report, Hamlin punched the man in the face. Another man knocked Hamlin down. Other witnesses told police one of the men hit Hamlin twice with a street sign.

Ken sustained serious injuries to his head due to a blow from a street sign. Hamlin was rushed to the hospital in critical condition with a fractured skull, a small blood clot and bruising of the brain tissue. He was released on October 20, 2005 in stable condition.

On Sirius, Gil Brandt cited a source close to Hamlin saying that he has "medical issues"...probably still residual affects from that bar fight that he lost in Seattle. This guy is damaged goods...if we do sign him it has to be for minimal $$$.

it has to be bc of the head injury......what were his stats from last year

Its just a cash issue. Unless they are all-world I cant remember many Safeties ever getting huge cash right at the start of FA.

Just like when we let go of Brock Marion a few years back and he was out there for so long that we got him back for minimum ....and then released him again and he stayed out for awhile before the Lions I think finally got him....
