Why haven't we added a young QB to the practice squad? I'm really surprised he (Saban) hasn't added Jeff Smoker. He was let go by the Rams. He was supposed to be the backup to Bulger this year. But Fitzpatrick had a outstanding camp and beat him out for the job. Jeff was also recruited by Saban when he was at Michigan State. He's just is the third best passer in Big 10 history. That's with the crappy OL and WR's that MSU seemed to always have.

Because we use our third stringer as the practice squad QB.
