Now keep in mind, this is only my opinion and is based on how some people feel:

If you look at our draft, we walked away with 3 first round picks.

Tannehill: Would have been a "great pick" if it was around 14-25th pick in the draft. But that's still first round. Some people don't believe he is talented enough to go #8 overall, but concede that he is a first round prospect.

Martin: A player most expected to go in the first round, we snatched him up in #2.

Miller: Was projected as a late first round, early second round player. We took him in the 4th.

How can you walk away from the draft with 3 projected first round picks and not be given an A. We made chicken salad out of chick shhh with a 2nd and 4th round pick. I can honestly say that, value alone, we deserve a round of applause for that.

Now obviously there will be folks who disagree with the projections and say let's wait and see. But if we insist on attaching arbitrary letters and grades to players who havent even taken the field yet, then I think it's worth saying we deserve better than a C and I'd wager with 3 first rounders, you can't do much better.

I'm not a big fan of Tanny but I love the other 2 picks and you make a good point.

NFL sucks Pats Wang and ignores all the other teams...no wait they like Pittsburgh hard too

I agree with you, We had a lot of team needs going into this draft and we hit some MAJOR issues. Our line needed to have columbo replaced sorely and we did that, we really needed to draft a QB for over a decade and we did that. We needed some more play makers we attacked that in Miller, and a seam threat TE again in Egnew. We needed SOMEone to compliment Wake so we took a shot at Vernon. We need to cover those damn duo of TE's at New England and we picked up Kaddu. BJ and Randall, Matthews are all late round fodder that could be great (I especially like BJ, he as talent, possession receiver)

You can't get every excellent player in the draft, we took what we needed and will continue to grow, the FINS did an excellent job this year, I am excited!!!

projected and expected is bull crap.

There are normally about 40-45 "projected' 1st rounders and 80-90 "expected" to go in the 1st two rounds.

As said above, the rounds they went in are the rounds they went in.

If in 2-3 years, 4-5 of our draft picks are starting then I'd give it a "A". I think 3 at most will be starting.

Other than Martin who most people believe will be a solid pro Miami's draft was almost solely based on "potential" there were no safe picks and it's boom or bust for just about every player they drafted.

I agree that this draft has a lot of potential, but we will have to see them on the field to really find out how good it was.

It's tough to really know how many will be starting in 3 years, but I believe there is honestly a chance for Tannehill, Martin, Miller, and Vernon to be starting, and Egnew in his own right could also become a starter.

Miller was not projected to go in the first. Bottom 2nd.

I liked the way the draft went. I give it a B+ cause We could not hit on R. Randle WR or Chris Givens WR and The pass rusher was not a DE top ten player. I still like the players we got with value so GM did a good job.

And what grade will you give Ireland if 7 are starting?
(Tannehill, Martin, Miller, Vernon, Egnew, Matthews, Randall)

First off , Miller will fit perfectly in our scheme as he is best in a zone blocking scheme (which Miami will be running). He fits our system perfectly.

Top 50 pick by Pro football weekly , which is upper half of 2nd round through the 1st round (not the bottom of the 2nd as you said)

Draft Day had Miller as a late 1st rounder / early 2nd

NFL Draft 365 had Miller as a late 1st / early 2nd rounder .. and many other draft publications/outlets had Miller as a 1st/2nd rounder

We got an absolute steal here.
