Hanging tough with Super Bowl teams is nothing new for this franchise. Let's go all the way back to 1992. Do you know that from that year until 2004, a span of 13 seasons, the Dolphins beat that season's eventual AFC champion 10 times. 10! In 1993 they beat BOTH Super Bowl participants. In 2006 they beat the Bears (NFC champion) and almost beat the Colts (Super Bowl winner.) In 2007 they lost by a field goal to the Giants, who went on to win it all. In 2009 they had the Colts and Saints on the ropes and showed they could "play with the big boys." In 2010, they beat the Packers IN GREEN BAY and if it weren't for horrible officiating they would have beat the Steelers as well. In 2011 they hung tough with the Giants and the Pats (the second time they played them.) They beat the Seahawks in 2012, who went on to play in the Super Bowl the next year. This year the Dolphins have beaten the Pats and hung tough with the Broncos and Packers. Those are the three most likely teams to win the Super Bowl in my opinion.

So yeah, they have shown for more than 20 years that they can "hang with the big boys." In that time they have won five playoff games. So what does hanging tough or even beating Super Bowl teams prove? Nothing. Miami can only be judged by its ability to win games when they count. Now they have to win four of their last five. If they don't, all the moral victories in the world won't mean ****.

So you see no improvement in the team as a whole? You don't see that they have overcome the biggest obstacle to being successful?

As a whole no! Offense looked good defense looked like ****! I can't call a unit improved when they got dominated in the air, and on the ground. They get some what of a pass with Finnegan being out because as I have said since last year Taylor is terrible! BUT no one else in defense stepped up! None of our "playmakers" made a play when needed!

Moral victories merely allow you to wear your Dolphin gear in the offseason with a small sense of pride your teams not totally worthless.

I think this season will once again come down to the final two games and then in black and white we will see if this team has improved from last year, or whether they will completely fall apart again at the end.

Not based on one game. That was an anomaly yesterday. The defense normally has been very good at stopping the run.

I dunno man! A stop against GB, Detoilet, or Denver and I might buy it. They just aren't closing games out.

Can't argue that they are struggling closing games out but those are instances of the passing defense breaking down at the end. Yesterday the run defense was absolutely atrocious and it has been good all year.

Yeah that was mind boggling! I was literally screaming for a play, a stop! Never happened Manning got what he wanted when he wanted!
