Why I Think Fisher Has Chosen the Rams Already

Sorry but this theory doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Fisher may end up with the Rams but both the Rams and Dolphins are anxious to announce a coach to appease their fan base. The longer the carrys on the worst it is for both teams. So why would the Rams extend the mystery just to help the Dolphins save some face. Beside does this save any face? To me the longer this carries out the more commited both teams appear to Fisher and the more of a loser they seem for not getting him.

There is no way the Rams and Fisher are sitting on this for Miami's sake. They have their own fan base they need to please and season tickets to sell for a 2-14 team. No way. I don't think there is some conspiracy here people. This next move will define Fisher"s career and legacy, it's a huge decision and I fully understand him taking a few days to make a decision.

Fisher is coming to MIami I just got word from the most trusted sourse I have mark my words, also Wake is gonna SHINE in the 4-3 DFence mark those words as well!!!!!!! DOLPHINS ARE BACK YOU GUYS SO YOU ALL SHOULD BE VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!

Since the Rams organization is so eager to help the Dolphins maybe they will just trade us the #2 pick for our first round pick plus Anthony Fasano and call it a done deal.

Do you think the Rams give a rats deriere about how bad they beat the Dolphins or visa versa? Of course not. This has nothing to do with saving face until the loser starts the spin.
IMO, Fisher is trying to have his assembled staff evaluate their prospective players to see which team needs the most tinkering, measuring that against cap space, free agents and draft picks available. Schefter said it is about winning. Well, he needs to evaluate the talent to see how it fits his sytem. That's what's taking so long. The negotiations over control are BS, IMO.

i can simplify this whole thing.

jeff ireland. nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, expecially UNDER him.

FYI - there were 5 candidates that already interviewed that were willing to work under Ireland

Im sick of threads about this. Nobody knows **** ....and your opinions dont mean ****!

IF Jeff Ireland is the reason Fisher does not come here, I will lose it. Supposedly, Fisher does not have an issue with him. We shall see.

I still think he goes to the Rams.

IF he does, Miami re-sets things over the weekend...adds other interviews and then makes a selection next week. Perhaps some current playoff assistants come free. Perhaps you want for Philbin.

Things will be fine one way or the other.

I like the coaches they have interviewed so far.

I think Fisher wants escalator clauses in his contract both in time and salary if the Rams were to move.
Also I think he wants the owner to quit waving "The Patriot Way" in his face.

I agree with beenthere84, its just like when Brees signed with NO I recall reading Saban telling of the story mia. Notified Brees so he could let NO announce the signing first.

It jumped out at me when I heard shefter say no money has been negotiated yet...I was like wtf, that's BS if I ever heard BS in my life.

what i meant was, any of the BIG NAME, EXPERIANCED coaches. and this was written about by nfl "insiders" a week ago and posted on this board, with links. many have said ross shot himself in the foot by retaining ireland as the name coaches do not want to work with him.

"5 guys who are willing to work with ireland"........, REALLY? coaches go to interviews. expecially assistants who are trying to move up to an h/c spot. sometimes its just courtesy, as they dont want to appear diva-ish. other times, they come in, hear what they want to hear and decide agaisnt it like wade phillips did this morning with tampa bay. like harbaugh did last year, knowing full well he was san fran bound, with miami.

we have no idea which, if any of those guys so far would take the job. MAYBE all of them would. but to just say all 5 are willing to work with ireland or the team in general is a bit short sighted.

I believe Ross asked Fisher to leak this report to soften the blow for the Dolphins. Remember the report that Ross won't be outbid? They need to address that - and the best (only?) way to do so by denying money was offered. Then they can say Fisher didn't turn us down about money, only that the fit wasn't right, etc. This "leak" was nothing more than a save face move for Ross. I also expect Fisher will speak glowingly of the "losing" team at his press conference.

There's nothing in it for Fisher to help out another team. That's not his role as HC.

I have never heard of any coach or agent saying they wouldnt work with Ireland, nor have I seen actions that suggests that they wouldn't. Not one. The only thing you hear is beat writers that think they have the inside scoop on Ireland, and if this past week has taught us anything, the beat writers really dont have a clue.

Ireland has developed a stigma because he asked some tough questions to a player at the combine, and because he accompanied Ross to SF to recruit Harbaugh, at Ross' request. These dont make him a bad GM. If you can give me some tangible evidence that Ross is a terrible GM, I might believe your theory.

While the OP could be just as right as anyone else who is guessing at all this, I do have some concerns with this theory. 1) typically teams could care less about other teams that lose out on coaches/players to do such a "face-saving" move; 2) If Miami were truly in a damage control stage, they'd have other candidate lined up for interviews, even if they weren't seriously being considered for the appearance of us having moved on to other candidates, which we have not and basically have stopped the process until Fisher decides; 3) I think this "damage control" would be a waste of time because everyone knows we are "all in" on this Fisher thing, so anything short of landing him will be viewed negatively by most of the fans. Unfortunately, as much as our own FO has created this mess, the press has multiplied the drama around it 10 times to what it should have been.
