Why I think Gailey should be the guy

Unless Marty becomes available tommorrow:

Gailey is an offensive guy who likes to run first. Check.
He has HC experience and is recently familiar with Miami
He has worked with Jason Garrett (I believe) when Garrett was backup Qb with Dallas
Even if we kept Mularky (god forbid), he would run the offense with more input than Saban ever would but I dont think he would retain Mularky which is why he is a front runner.
Gailey and Capers would be a good match.
If he fails, we always have Cowher waiting in the wings next year.


All that said, I think Marty Shott gets a shot if Don Shula has anything to say about it and I think that is the main reason why young shot cut himself from the running. It was mentioned in one of the articles just out. Sorry, I am attachment challenged and I dont care.

See, i've wondered to myself why Brian pulled himself out too and i'm wondering if it's because his dad has been contacted by Wayne in the event that San Diego lets him go. Brian obviously wouldn't want to compete with his dad for the same job and kinda ironic that he does it the day AFTER his dad's team loses. I'm wondering had the Chargers won Sunday if Brian would still be in the mix here. However, i'm still not sold on either Gailey or Mora Jr. and really feel indifferent to them both.

Maybe indifference is good at this point. We all felt so strongly about Saban and look how that worked out

I would say for 2 reasons:

1- he talked to his dad ... and he probably did not recommend the move

2- he got a nice raise from the JETS ... and has more confidence the their ability to make the playoffs next year ....
