As a Jets fan I was unimpressed with today's win. Miami should have come much closer today, a few dropped passes killed those chances. Chad Pennington is healthy enough to throw the deep ball. Chad Pennington is not comfortable enough to throw the ball deep. I believe that he is afraid of throwing picks or ducks. I don't know if he is sure that his shoulder is OK. People on the Jets site have been saying there were guys open deep downfield, but Chad kept throwing to the underneath guy. In Miami, the Fins will have the morrale edge, and Chad will get flustered unless he can get his
S H I T together in the next few weeks. Also, Miami knows we leave the flats open, and don't cover TEs well. McMichael can dominate against the Jets. NY's O-line is not good enough to help Martin get 100+ yards, and combined with Chad's inability or unwillingness to go deep, we become 1 dimensional. Gus Ferotte is decent, and we can't get pressure. Gus was rushed a little today, but even John Abraham couldn't really get to him and take him down. I don't see the Fins getting worse. Today was closer than a 10 point game really. Home field advantage could put Miami over NY, and the Jets record coming into that game could be 4-9, seriously, look at the schedule. There aren't many chump teams on Nys schedule, and if we continue to play this way I really believe we could become a chump team.

you also forgot we didn't have our best running back either.

ricky will be mowing you down come december.

my sentiments EXACTLY... and coming from a Jets fan, no less? amazing...

anyhow..., yes, i saw Sunday's game as much closer... the Jets had some extremely fortuitous bounces (literally) with those three fumbles coming right back to them.... take away that HORRIBLE pass interference penalty on the opening drive (made up for later for us, perhaps), and they don't set such a tone...

biggest play of the game? i'll say Chad's completion on 3rd-and-12 on their drive that answered Miami's TD... the pass rush failed miserably there...

I dont know what motivated you to come here and lay all this out. But it took some major honesty to do so. But I do agree with you. Chad really looks way out of norm from the efficient guy that popped up on the scene several years ago. I dont know if he will get it together.

I do think Miami will beat the Jets in Miami, not being a homer, but because they will be a better Defensive unit, and Ricky will get us those third downs we could not get today. Nontheless, the Jets are still the Jets in that I as a Dolphin fan can never doubt them or consider them out of a game. But it seems like Herm is running out of tricks for this team. WIth Curtis struggling and no Jordan to fall back on, I can see it being a tough year for the Jets.

But also remember everyone in the AFC has a nearly identical schedule and will play tough teams. Satistically Miami has the hardest schedule, so it could be both teams going into the game with losing records.

Anyhow, both teams have a lot of room for improvement. Good luck to your team except when they are playing us. :)

Did Martin even average 3 yards a carry? If Martin mowed us then what did Ronnie do?

Martin made big runs when they needed em. Hed get 12 yards or so, only problem, he only did it for one half. I think well see a lot more of Blaylock in the second meeting.

Way to lay it on the line. There were alot of boos eminating from the stands. i ket hearing them over and over. What really blew me away was all the players on the sideline who were smiling like they are back and in control. I say they are back and in control for a week. I thought we beat ourselves. bad snap and kick on the easy FG. CC drops a big one. and our defense was lame on that last NY TD.

oh dont get me started on that start to the game. How the hell does Pennington come up with the ball when he wasnt even in the pile until way late? The refs were calling everything on us including illegal *** scratching.

All that matters is who comes up with the ball, unless on camera you can see someone with possession downed under there.
