I have been posting alot these past 24 hours trying to calm down this message board from dumb threads like the infamous one, "Sparano is an IDIOT". Well some people are looking at this loss with light and saying theres a bright future, while others say its same old.

Now the people that are saying same old same old have a point, I meen doesnt this remind you of last year? Comeback falls just short. Well I am one of those people that are looking at this with light because this is MUCH MUCH different then last year.

There were alot of positive to take away from yesterday, but the number 1 thing is you have to remember is who was making plays for us yesterday. We didnt bring in veterans and patch together a team to try to make a playoff run, NO, like someone else said, WE ARE REBUILDING!!!. Therefore were not going to win alot this year and probably not to much next year either. However, if you look at yesterdays game with knowing that we are rebuilding, youll realize we had 2 rookies on the O-line, a second year player on the O-line, a second year receiver, a undrafted rookie receiver, a 4th round pick D end, a 2nd round pick D end, a 3rd year linebacker, rookie kicker, etc etc. Now when you look at all those players that were starting yesterday, tell me, would you think that team would be very good at all? NO!!!

However, we were one freaking pass away from beating a team that spent so much money in the off-season and are now a playoff team with a HOF QB.

My overall point is that last year, everybody was expecting playoffs, including Cam, and we were not truly rebuilding. This year we expect to lose alot because we are rebuilding, so look at the positives of the players that made the plays out there. Give this regime 2-3 years, this is going to be a young, strong, DOMINANT team.

absolutely right on all counts. We really are not as bad as some of these doomsayers say. We need a playmaker at WR and a shut down corner and we will win some games for sure.

i agree with what your saying and also have hope for the future. But what you seem to be saying is that all these players are going to work out. If as is more than likely alot of these youngsters dont work out as is the way in the NFL then we are left with a the same situation as every year where rookies replace rookies and the team goes nowhere. For this franchise to get back to greatness we need two or three stellar drafts and also to spend money on appropriate motivated veterans. We are still a huge way off.

Disagree completely. People keep saying were a long way away, were a huge way off. Were really not, right now with the talent on the team, I think we have an 6-10, 7-9 type team talent wise. I think one more good off-season like the one we had and were a playoff type team.

They call it "Rebuilding" for a reason. Hopefully I'll not be a "Fake" fan because I'm trying to be realistic in my view of this team. I'll be happy with 5-8 wins, and, I think that's possible.

Preach on Brother! I agree with everything you stated. Great Post Bud

Finally a voice of reason.. there were many good points in yesterday's game......Fasano had a great game. Langford played like a beast Merling made a big play at the end. And Jake played well for a guy that had 2 guys rushing at him the whole game. Alot of positive one negative we didnt win in fact we took at team that is LOADED for this year with a HOF QB and had farve praying to the football gods int he final seconds if Pennys pass to martin is 3 inches higher we won forget Ginn that play on martin by that DB saved the Jets

Yeah everyone is talking about that last play, but that play to martin was the big missed oppurtunity. Martin had a good angle on his guy, and if pennington put it a little higher, were 1-0 right now.

well said. I still think 6-7 wins is doable. Things can only get better and we have a good set of rb's and good TE as well. Here is to the future:beer1:

I think the difference in the game was Brett Favre. There's very good reasons why he's going to be in the Hall of Fame the first time his name comes up.

I wish he didn't pick the stinkin' Jets but it looks like the guy still have some tread on his tires. It looks like he still enjoys the game. He still jumps around like a high school QB who just made his first TD pass. He's still got the addiction for football and he can't quite bring himself to retire.

Favre will be even better when we face him on 12/28. I want to shock him by how much we've improved for the rematch. He kind of got lucky on one of his TD passes this week. That's Favre though. He somehow gets the ball right where it needs to be whether there's a rush coming or he's falling down, throwing off his back foot, etc. I don't know how he still pulls it off after all these years. The guy's still got some special magic. When are WE going to get us another QB with that magic like Marino again? Hopefully, Pennington is going to surprise the heck out of Dolphin Nation this year.
