Why Ireland MUST be retained

Oh yeah, Ireland drafts mediocre players at best. His late rounders play like mid rounders, and his early rounders play like mid rounders. SO there you have it, we have a team of mid rounders. Our record proves that, we're consistently average at best.

Yeah still drinking the left overs from last night lol.

I think the degree is in psychology cause you must be dreamin.

We have the worst line in the NFL after how man years of drafting and FA. That is on Ireland. I think we only have Pouncy or one starter returning. That means you trust Ireland to find 4 starting OL by next year and spend how much of our salary dollars based on his record.

If He does not go then what must he do worse to be let go? 5 years and no playoffs and counting.

I know everyone is disappointed with how our season ended but the only thing that remains a must is keeping Jeff Ireland. While I know this conclusion is an obvious one to most here, there are still some people who cant (CAN'T) see what is so plainly (CLEARLY) obvious. Ireland has been an excellant(EXCELLENT) gm (GM) during his tenure here. He's amassed a plethera (PLETHORA) of talent here while ridding this team of its cancers and trouble makers. Unfortunately (,) he's being made the scapegoat for awful coaching and the great talent he amassed is not playing to the (THEIR POTENTIAL) capabilites (CAPABILITIES) that they should. All of this is not Irelands fault.

The proof is in the pudding. Ireland has deftly got this franchise headed in the right direction with his savy (SAVVY) acquisitions and draft picks. There are numerous players he's drafted contributing in a myriad of ways (,) and that speaks to the genius in his scouting ability. You dont (DON'T) get into the position Ireland is in by being bad at your job. Hes (HE'S) been doing this for almost 6 years (,) and i (I) defy you to name 5 gms (GMs) who've had that long of a tenure and were bad at their job. You cant (CAN'T) so the only logical conclusion you can draw is that Ireland is really good at his job. Its math guys.'

The worst decision this franchise could make would be to get rid of its greatest asset. Does getting rid of your best employee make your business better or worse? Worse of course (,) so it doesnt (DOESN'T) make sense to want to get rid of Jeff. Makes no sense at all.

Due to (BECAUSE OF) Jeff, this team is really really (2nd Really is unnecessary) close to being in the superbowl (Super Bowl). I guarantee you all that (I GUARANTEE YOU THAT) next year we will win 13 games if Jeff has another offseason to build on the last outstanding offseason he had. The proof is in the pudding. Ross is no dummy. You dont (DON'T) get (EARN) 5 billion dollars by being a dummy (,) and he likes Jeff so there you guys. Its (IT'S) the obvious and its (IT'S) the right (IT IS THE OBVIOUS AND RIGHT) choice to keep him.

I know what im (I'M) talking about. I have a PhD which automatically means I'm smarter than just about everyone here. You cant deny that. Who(WHOM) would you trust with a teams (TEAM'S) [/U] assessment? An intellectual with a PhD or yourself? ( ASSESMENT, AN INTELLECTUAL WITH A PHD OR YOURSELF ?) I think ive (I'VE) made my point[/U]( I think ive made my point

Keep jeff (Jeff) and go phins. 2014 superbowl (Super Bowl)

Phins up.

DUDE, Hate to be the bearer of unpleasant news, but your parents wasted their money. If you have a PHD and write like this, you undoubtedly wasted your parents money. That University should be shut down for fraud. To deliberately state you are more intelligent than most here, is a bit crass and condescending. I find it laughable that you would speak to ANYONE in that manner. I own a business with 11 employees and am worth in excess of 37mil. I did not spend a single day in college. So between us, who is actually the smart one? You can keep your PHD letters, I'll take the money. Your writing stands alone and speaks for itself. That piece of paper they gave you at college, you may as well use it to wipe yourself with! That's about all it is good for.

Agree. The guy sounds like a little prick to me.

Noway do i want Ireland to pick our draft picks this year , we had what one player that played last year out of 7 draft picks from last year , that was pitiful , we need somebody that knows how to pick the players thats going to contribute year 1 , atleast picks 1-3 we had 2 2nd rd picks last year that didnt even get on the field hardly at all and we moved up and picked 3rd over all and the F.O. DIDNT EVEN play him 25% .we need impact players , players that can come in and contribute right away , not 3-4 years down the road .

Didn't read the OP, but...

You've got to be bleeping me. Ireland must be retained if you are ok with mediocrity. Maybe you are getting used to it, I don´t know...

Shirley you cant be serious...

I did just read a phinphinatic article where he agrees with this. He decided to email Ross and Ireland, Ireland responded to his email.

I will get it shortly.

here it is...

http://phinphanatic.com/2014/01/01/letter-mr-ross/
Pretty incredible that this sort of letter should surface. I agree with a lot of the Sherman criticism but to take it to the next step is interesting. He must have been pretty emotional. I am also stunned by the love for Mike Shula. Granted, he's had a good year with Cam Newton but maybe the player's talent had something to do with it. Just maybe.

Jeff Ireland is a horrible talent elevator who misses way more than he hits. Just ask Legadu Naane, Jason Allen, Benny Sapp, Daniel Thomas, Phillip Wheeler, Koa Misi, and the rest of the scrubs he has drafted or imported.

Joe Philbin deserves more control over the team and personnel decisions and acquisitions. If Jeff Ireland stays we will be doomed once again to over pay for mediocre talent and let our good players go to other teams.

We had a decent year this year but as a g.m. he had a horrible year.

He let our franchise LT walk and our Oline imploded.

He let Reggie Bush walk and our running game imploded.

He let Dansby walk during a career year, while the guys who we signed to replace him struggled all year

He let Sean Smith go, only to draft 2 cornerbacks who couldn't sniff the field.

AND HE DID ALL THIS WITH A HUGE SALARY CAP TO WORK WITH!!!

This guy needs to go RIGHT NOW!

My apologies...meant to thank your post and fat fingered it

I bet Locke is really Stephen Ross and he is trying to get a feel for the fanbase accepting his decision to retain Ireland. Obviously Dr Locke needs to sit down with someone and exppress his need to impersonate the common man. Maybe Junc would givehim an hour on the couch.
Stephen Ross does not have a PhD to my knowledge. However, he did donate $100 million to his alma mater the University of Michigan, who named their Business School after him. Well I don't know how that compares to the $100 million of Mr Ross's money that Jeff spent on Mike Wallace and Philip Wheeler. I wonder which expenditure Mr Ross considers to be the best investment?
