Why is everybody exited about signing Holliday?

Holliday was misused in KC, asked to be a speed rusher when that's not his skillset.

We'll see what he does here, but I'd be willing to bet he'll be a force against the run in any 3-4 sets we want to use this year.

David Bowens wasnt a big name,in fact he was a 3rd stringer when we had Ogun.

My point is,David Bowens had a great year last year, while being a backup before....In fact he had blown out his knee as well.

So Vonnie does have potential, and has been highly touted,so given him alongside J.T. I think we'll see the Vonnie that no one hasn't seen yet.

But u cant already bash him if he hasnt done anything yet. He wasn't bad in Green Bay,so lets see how he does here,we dont lose nothing if he came in cheap

No really when we say misused, when MEAN misused. Holliday is asked to play a 4-3 RE. Jason Taylor's position...

Dude...get real. The guy sucks. PERIOD.

He had ZERO sacks last season and his best season in his career was 8.5.

David Bowens is twice the player Holliday is.

Like I said......cut before the 3d pre-season game.

saban needs you .....so he can retire......you are just too smart!

i won't be rude....but guys this is ist round talent and he wasn't used properly in
KC...and they do have a lousy defense. They would drop him off in zone scheme's alot. here i'm sure he will thrive

True. He wont be a super-star, i doubt, but IMO he will be a pretty able player to team with JT, much like Ogun. Also, if we get Carter, a JT-Chester-Carter-Holiday line with Bowens rotating in (using him to spell Chester and Carter will keep him fresh and help his back, IMO) would be a huge upgrade over last year's unit. I highly doubt we paid much for him, and he could turn out to be a great value signing if he duplicates his production from GB.

exactly and he didn't have a good bookend to compliment him......and the scheme in KC made the owner made because they spent money on him and didn't use him properly......don't try talking sense to people with out it!

Talking sense?

How bout making some sense....the guy sucks. PERIOD.

Holliday will do just fine in our defense system. It seems like you all bash him just because he came from a crappy defense. Not every defense player on there team is bad.

tell saban man.......just drive down there and tell him how much you know.....shouldn't take long........and i'm not talking about the drive either

No....I just know when a defensive end can only manage ZERO sacks in a season...that he is not all that good.

People...take off the aqua colored glasses.

Vonnie Holliday will be a rotating run stuffer. Change in scenery will do him good. KC defense is abominable.

Frequently injured in the past few years, Holliday could nonetheless be a solid contributor for the Dolphins, assuming he can stay healthy, and particularly if Miami moves to a 3-4 front. Miscast at various time in his career as a good outside pass-rusher, Holliday is a far better run defender. espn

You have to question Saba's jusgement here...Holliday was a highly touted guy coming out of college and has been the definition of BUST.

Like I said...he looks like training camp fodder.

Cut before the third pre-season game.
At 6-feet-5 and 290 pounds, Holliday possesses the kind of size the 3-4 defense demands in its ends. Teams that employ the three-man defensive line require bigger ends, because their primary responsibility is anchoring against the run. Most 3-4 teams use their outside linebackers to rush the passer, especially in "nickel" situations.Miscast at various time in his career as a good outside pass-rusher, Holliday is a far better run defender

are you prepared to eat your words if he is a starter for us opening day? I am prepared to eat mine. I think he will do just fine for us. why do you hate him so much?
