Why is everybody exited about signing Holliday?

a 2 year deal(likely worth very little) for a former 1st rd pick. Is he better than Jay Williams, Ronald Flemons, or Chidi Ahanatu the 3 resvere ends we used primarily last season? If he is than this is a productive signing.

He is not better than any of those you mentioned.

I think he was brought in to boost the confidence of Vernon Carey in training Camp.....after Vernon goes up against Vonnie for a few days......Carey is going to think he is the best RT in the NFL.

What do you have against the guy? Did he steal your lunch money in grade school;) ? Why not give him a chance? I bet he feels he has alot to prove.

Then again think about how big his contract was and how stupid the Chiefs were to play Holliday as a RE.

Excactly. And Clayton apparantly reported that we paid him a 600K signing bonus. That makes him t an extremely low-risk/high rewad player.

I highly doubt we cut him in the preseason, if nothing else he is good depth along the dline.

First FA signed by Saban and already its being criticized. We dont really know what Saban has seen in him but I am sure he fits into his plans.

exactly......

I saw him play a few games with GB. He looked good to me. But why did he disappear with the chiefs? Laziness? Opponent's scouting? Trying too hard on D?

In the end I don't care who we sign. Saban is suppose to be the savior, so let him save us...

He didn't play all of last season, he was hurt. Donnie Edwards came out of Kansas City and was one of the better linebackers last season, Holliday might just need to go somewhere different. Why are you so damn negative? We signed a guy that our coach feels can contribute to the team, if you are right and he does get cut then we didn't lose anything.
