Why is everybody exited about signing Holliday?

Must be hard searching for something to cry about all the time. I tell you I dont know why they dont just sign this guy to be our talent scout, should have sent him up here to Indy for the combine so we could find out who the "REAL" talents are. :shakeno:

Quit crying and see what happens before you want to whine about something.

9 games he was injured the whole year and played hurt. who am I? who are you?

He played in 9 games.

BTW....who are you?

Holliday is decent, but rushing the QB is not his game. He is a guy who is a great against the run, and can get you between 5 and 8 sacks a year on stunts.

He just signed a huge contract with KC, and was cut because of it (and because of the emergence of Jared Allen).

he's not here to be a starter, he's here to do what Zgonina, Romero Chidi, and Williams are/were supposed to do.

Lets ease up on holiday, the guy played on one of the worst D's in the league with no help at all. And now he comes to Miami and gets to play opposite JT.

It sounds like somebody just doesnt like the guy, give him a chance before you start bashing him for being stuck on a crappy D.

This isn't a bad signing especially if we make the 3-4 switch. This guy is a decent run stopper and has good size.

Section136 this is the best thread I've read on this board in awhile. I applaud you...

quit sucking up!!

I am actually just happy that we made a FA signing. I really don't know what I think about that Safety, but this one has potential. At a cheap price. Now if we can get Kennedy, I might be really excited going into the draft.

My only contribution to this thread is that Holliday is nowhere near the definition of a bust. He's a good run stopper who in the past has managed to get between 5 and 8 sacks a year, when healthy and used properly. He's been miscast as an outside passrusher when he is nothing of the sort. He will do well in the hybrid 3-4/4-3 defense. And, he is not that expensive. It's not like we got him as a franchise player or something. Sheesh.

Dont you think you are being too harsh on Holliday? I mean come on dude he doesnt suck and he will be a good player in our system.
im not knocking holliday or your post. but does anybody know what our system is on def? we got rid of bates, and all this talk of 3-4 4-3 i mean what is it gonna be. the new dc is it gonna be his show, or is saban gonna install his def?

Listen to yourself, your acting like this is a bad thing. Imagine, if we the fans of the dolphins have no idea what Defense they'll be running, Imagine being an Offensive Coordinator trying to plan for the dolphins Defense the next week:eek: . Please, try to have some optimism.

He's cheap and he's a good fit for a 3-4 DE. That's why we signed him. If he can stuff the run and occupy blockers so the OLBs can make plays, he's a sound investment. Remember that D-Bo will likely move to OLB in the 3-4 if/when we start running it regularly.

Obviously 126 thinks the guy's worse than Chuck Klingbeil and nothing's changing his mind until/unless Holliday proves it on the field. Fair enough.
