Why is everybody exited about signing Holliday?

i'm not acting like it's a bad thing, i was just wondering, a lot of people keep saying our system. do we know what our system is now ? i mean we have almost a whole new coaching staff, we are seeking to trade surtain, will we then move away from our cb's playing single coverage? i am excited about this upcomming yr. i cant wait till tc to get here to see what our system is gonna be like. i have a good feeling there's gonna be some nice changes and we'll move away from our old system, where we lined up in our base def, and every team in the league knew what we were gonna run. and move to a style like b.b and each week you dont know what your going to face on def against the fins.

Vernon Carey may be our LT this season.
 
Im going to trust Saban, hes a little more qualified to say who sucks and who doesnt. Not that posting on a message board doesnt make u an expert....

David Bowens is twice the player Holliday is.

Do you know what a run-stuffer is?..He's not a sack master...who ever said that he was? Do you think that the only good DE's in the NFL are top pass rushers?

Holliday is a terrific run defender and the last time I looked Miami was 31st against the run.

How is he a bad pick up?

He might not be a super stud you can build your defense around but he could be a Ogun type player for Miami. A guy that would fit good in the system.

This is true. He was a darn good player in Green Bay. when KC got him, it was either the system or injuries. I like him better than Cater. Holliday is a good player.

Holliday had 37 tackles and 5.5 sacks in a full season in 2003....Richard Seymour had 39 tackles and 5 sacks in 2004......In a 3-4 Holliday will improve not having to be a SPEED rusher, something he is not.

it was a combination of both, and the drafting of Jared Allen.

KC signed him to be a pass rusher, and believe me, it wasn't pretty.
 
Here are some quick comments I came across when looking up info on V.Holliday...

From Jeff Reynolds, Pro Football Weekly's 2004 preview..."A stud against the run"

From Tsn.ca player bio's from 2004..."Excellent run defender"

From Len Pasquarelli, ESPN.com..."Miscast at various time in his career as a good outside pass-rusher, Holliday is a far better run defender"

I guess Section 126 is right...HE SUCKS! We don't need his help..Miami's run defense is great.. :rolleyes:

The KC defense was horrid.... the games were always something like... 100-95. Their D was hard to find most of the time... I don't believe that you can just lay that on one player.
 
he's the only player on the chiefs defense that i even heard of. it is very hard to suceed with such a group of clowns around you.

Not only did he make the team...he is our starter at DT....all that hot air for a guy who has played pretty well for this team in the pre-season :lol:
 
Alongside Taylor on that d-line in this defense, i'm sure that Holliday will do fine. He's an average DE, but i think in this defense he can be a 6-7 sacks guy.
