Is it because he is the only good QB in this years draft? The Cheifs sent a ton of coaches to his workout. I am wondering if we have a better shot of trading out of the first position because this kid is so hyped up. A couple weeks ago it looked like there was no way possible to trade our pick but after hearing how almost every team sent coaches and scouts to his workout we might have a decent shot of trading. Parcells needs to turn on his acting side and really pretend that he wants Ryan. What do you guys think?

I personally think Ryan is a another puss from Boston

I'm not hyped at all. I'm not sure he will even be average in the pro's. I wanted Cutler a few years ago. He was about the only QB I was hyped on that I thought we could get.

I dont think hes worth a top five pick but thats just my opinion. There are a lot of Ryan lovers here and around the country for some reason. I think Beck will be our future. Everyone seems to write him off after only four games as a ROOKIE and without his main weapon. Hey Peyton threw 23 picks in his rookie year and won only a couple games, look where he and the Colts are now.

Patience is a virtue, too bad others cant see that.

I hope we dont draft Ryan because a team will never succeed if they choose to change their most important position and signal caller every year and it shows with us and the Bears. The Bears finally settled on Grossman for a year but then went right back to the vet and failed. We have been ridiculous with changes at the Quarterback position ever since Marino left and thats why we haven't succeeded.

Let Beck play and see what he can do. He has ALL the tools to succeed in this league but is lacking talent around him. Hopefully we can address that lack in the draft in the next couple of years so we can help him.

Yeah I am not going to say I wanted Cutler when he came out because I didn't but I love his game. Hes going to be special imo.

I think Ryan is efficient and was very productive his senior year in college. I also like the fact that he has a drive to win in him (The Virginia Tech game serves as a perfect example). I sometimes though doubt what his progress would be his first years in the league due to his Senior uprising. I especially feel that he would have much trouble on a Dolphins roster with no Left Tackle. However if the Dolphins make a splash in trading for a left tackle or signing a productive free agent, you may see the likelyhood of the next Tom Brady in this kid. I still believe though that Darren McFadden is the best player in the draft and he holds the same case Adrian Peterson did last year. If the Raiders could go back they would have gladly taken him first overall. Having watched him in the SEC for three years this kid has some serious ability. Also lets not forget about Long from Michigan.

Good post bro. One question though, why do you believe McFadden is the best player in this draft?

I dont think he is even the best player at his position, I think its Jonathan Stewart. Stewart has a great blend of power and speed, which is rare.

I totally agree. You cannot ride off Beck yet especially with the offense he played with last year. Not many QB's could have done better in those circumstances. He needs at least 1 full season more before you can tell if he will be the guy. I am all for trading out of the first pick for more picks. I think our only chance of doing that is if some team really wants Ryan. What pick are the chiefs drafting at? The article I read said that the cheifs sent all their important people to his workout. Even Herm and their GM was there. What could we get from the chiefs for our pick?

The only thing I can think of is people are going stir crazy with nothing going on. This time is famous for good players all of sudden become great and other good players become awful all of a sudden. There's way too much time for people to start over thinking what people HAVE accomplished and what they COULD accomplish. I sure some of Ricky's stuff is floating around to.

Fifth overall. I think we could trade with them and end up with Gholston. Gholston is reportedly skyrocketing to the top of everyones draft boards because of his pro day. He improved his vertical to 42" and improved his 40 time by five tenths of a second I believe I heard from John Clayton (someone please correct me if I am wrong).

Because a lot of teams need QBs and he is the highest rated QB in this years draft. QB is one of the most important positions on the team and it gets a high priority just about every year. I don't necessarly believe he should be picked #1 but he is the highest rated QB none the less.

Hmmm, I don't know. Maybe because we've had 11 different starting QBs since Marino retired and this is the first chance we've had to draft a franchise QB prospect. You're right though, who needs that. Let's give Culpepper another shot.

Is Ryan actually being hyped up? Ryan supports are outnumbered 50-1 on this board. Is that your definition of hyped up????

Why is picking a QB in the 1st round writing off Beck? It's called competition. You try and upgrade every position on the team espesially THE most important one-QB. If at the end of the season one does better, it means you have hedged your investment. It's the prudent thing to do. If you end up having 2 good QBs, that is a good problem to have....one can always be traded. There is a premium on trading good Qbs.

As L2G would say...even though its corny as heck...........B I N G O and bingo was his name O.

Ummm...you dont just change for the sake of changing. But, when the perfect storm comes along of you hold the top pick in the draft, and there happens to be a franchise projected QB sitting there.........COUPLED with the guy you drafted last year plays the position in 4 games as badly as you have ever seen it played in 25 years of watching football............YOU MAKE A CHANGE.

Or you could make excuses for him and say, well we have been changing now for 11 years so now were sticking with this guy. Rookie or not when a guy plays as poorly as Beck did, its a very bad sign. Perhaps the reason we have to change QBs all the time is the ones we keep getting cant get the job done. Its time to put someone in there that can.

And drafting Ryan means we will not be changing for a while, so theres that problem fixed for ya too. You cant undo an investment that you put into a #1 overall pick. You have to ride that out. But, a 2nd round pick can be forgotten about much more quickly....see the Culpepper trade.

I was not talking about people on this board if you read closer. I was refering to all the teams and their scouts. Yes thats my definition of hyped.

Its called a waste of a pick on someone who could very easily be a bust and who you are going to pay millions to. We have too many other needs to take a QB at #1 especially when we still dont know if Beck is the man yet. It takes too long to recover from a #1 pick overall bust and Ryan is not a sure thing.
