Just wanted to be objective about the work of a GM and the success of a team. right before the start of the season most Miami fans were begging for Ross to extend Irelands contract for the great job he did on free agents, salary cap and his aggressive approach in the draft. now with the team at 4-5 and in the verge of loosing the playoffs with very questionable things surrounding our team everything is reversed and people want Irelands head. But let me point out some things to revaluate our view about our GM . Jeff Ireland is the least responsible for the Martin/Incognito show, A GM is working at his office with other matters and not in the locker room nor in the training field to get to know if there is a character matter with a player, that responsibility is all on the coaches. second, the very questionable offensive play calls that have cost Miami more than once are Sherman and Philbins responsibility not Irelands, Ireland didn't call for that " five step drop" with Mario Williams salivating 1-1 on Clabo with the game already in the pocket, not to mention all the major flaws and NFL conspiracy with the officials with terrible calls against us VS NE and Baltimore. Ireland brought some proven veterans like Wallace, Grimes, Gibson, Keller, and Ellerbe . he did a fine job with our cap numbers and drafted reaching for a player most people were excited about on Dion Jordan. the scheme, development of players, game planning, play calling and player matters are all on the coaches. and by the way Philbin was hired by Ross not Ireland and Philbin brought Sherman here. so lets look at our 4-5 record with the perspective of who is to blame and who is not.
