anything about or very little about, all of sudden, this guy becomes "our missing link" and the guy that will take us to the SB? I admit, I know nothing about this Lemon guy but I also haven't heard anybody on here or on TV talk about this guy as the "next great player". But now the deal was made, he's the next Marino?

not our fault you are ignorant to many players in the NFL

Show me a post where you mentioned this guy as a good player (before today) and I will give you props. Until then, I'll stand by what I said.

He's just referring to the tendency on these boards to inflate the value of whoever we pick up. I do like the Lemon pick up but at this point he is nothing more than a project with potential. We're still gonna make a QB move in the offseason.

Just because we haven't posted about a guy doesn't mean we don't know about him and think highly of him.

I for one probably have not posted anything with the name "Trent Green" in it in probably years, especially since this forum is for MIAMI DOLPHINS FOOTBALL....but I happen to think he's a very good QB and would be very happy should the Dolphins somehow end up with him.

Phantom inflation. I haven't heard anyone dub him the missing link unless it was obviously in jest.

No, I'm afraid you're missing the tendencies of this board. The tendency on this board is when a move gets made, there are tons of people who get excited about it for various reasons, and tons of people like yourselves who go on rants just because people are excited, and begin making accusations that are not based in reality of what people are saying about the trade.

The CONSENSUS around here is people like the trade but don't know whether or not Lemon turns out to be our savior or just more fodder.

Being excited about a trade sometimes doesn't mean you think the guy is the second coming. Sometimes it just means you're excited about the trade.

When i saw the guy it was two years ago and he stunk but apparently he's improved so i'm waiting to see like everybody else though i'm not even sure he'll be around next year

Hey I like the trade I'm not saying anything bad. I was just commenting as to why this thread was made and how the creator percieves this. I remember hearing a lot of good things about Lemon but I honestly never really thought he would be here.

It was said that Cleo Lemons performance was pushing Rivers out of San Diego. Scouts and reports have been all over this guy. Could just be looking good in preseason and practice but he was getting rave reviews by many in the offseason and preseason.

sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. good post. i'm hoping they see something in lemon, but i'm not jumping up and down over here. he probably won't play much until next preseason...

I dont know about the next Marino....but I do know he is the current piece (along with cap space) that Saban felt was adequate to improve this team and change it into a winning franchise.

Thats good enough for me.

(and if Saban cuts him outright tomorrow, I would state the same thing for the same reasons...)

It's ok to jump up and down about this trade if that is your disposition. There's no reason NOT to be excited about something new like this, if that is your disposition. That doesn't mean you think he's the second coming of Dan Marino either. Even if you (GASP) go so far as looking at tape of the guy and say "WOW what an ARM he has!" that doesn't mean you're saying he's the next Dan Marino.

Something new around here = excitement. GET OVER IT.

yes. exactly. Im just excited that feeleys not on the team anymore. we could have traded him for a ball of yarn and i'd have said san diego didn't full value.
