Why is Joey Porter Getting So Many sacks?

Why is Joey Porter getting so many sacks?
Wasn't Joey playing on the OTHER side last year?
Not his natural Position?
Didn't the Phins want Jason Taylor to be set up as the "Sack Master"?
That is the defense was designed to funnel things to Zach for tackling the runs & set up Taylor for the sacks?
Didn't Dom Capers use him WRONG last year?
Isn't Joey playing to his strengths this year & being used properly?

Some of you guys break down film & such very well. This is my speculation and a question more than anything.

I would love to hear from the Gurus with the FACTS.

Is it the SCHEME or has Joey simply stepped up his game - or BOTH?
Can the scheme change be proven?

He's self motivating

He's playing in the system he's designed for

He has loads of natural talent in his given area of specialty

He's the best defensive player on the field

He plays a position that rushes the QB instead of run first or drop back responsibilities. This allows him to concentrate on what he does best, when teams dble or chip on him we simply blitz a LB up the middle to force one on one with either the TE or LT.

dude,do you honestly care why he's getting his sacks? regardless of schemes,blitz packages,defensive alignments,or what have you...be glad he's getting to the opposing QBs...as of right now,Joey Porter is on pace to not only set a new single season team sack record,but a new NFL single season sack record,i'd be more glad of that than wondering how he's getting them...

if you ask joey he will tell you that he feels healthy and that he wasnt last year at all.... im sure scheme and pride are big motivators too though

Yeah, I care because you would have thought that last year with Jason Taylor AND Joey Porter AND the supposed 3-4 Guru in Dom Capers (Remember Blitzburg?) that they would have both had that many APIECE.

So what's different about THIS year? Jason Taylor is gone. Joey back to his natural position under a different DC.

2 Things, he is back to his natural position rushing the QB, and 2 the line is holding their blocks getting a push and keeping the big O-linemen from hitting the second level and getting their mits on Joey.
