What is the main reason Mike Shula isn't being talked about by many fans or the media as a serious candidate for the Miami job?

Is it because of his experience at Alabama? It's not like he was a failure there. He came in during NCAA sanctions and posted a winning record during his four years there including a 10-2 season and a Cotton Bowl victory.

He's done it as a player and he's been a successful coach in the NFL for years also. And you can't argue with his pedigree.

I'm not here saying he should be hired because I admittedly don't know a lot about him personally or professionally. I only want the coach who would do the best job of bringing the Dolphins back to being a dominant franchise.

However, how incredible would it be for another Shula to be the one to give rise to a new championship era for the Dolphins? You couldn't write a better script...

So, what is the problem most people have with Mike Shula?

He has said a couple times he wont even interview with teams until after the Panthers season is over...doesn't want it to be a distraction

It's because behind closed doors his pops is telling him to stay as far away from this franchise as possible.

He should get an interview, most coordinators on 15-1 teams will generate interest. While Carolinas d is dominant, he's helped Cam become an elite type qb (this year).

You're probably right. Don probably thinks Ross is as dumb as we do.

This is the reason. Others trying to be cute.

SHHHHH dont tell them facts....I was hoping it would go unnoticed until some one brought it up on page 2 lmao

Over/under on how many different people start this same thread over the next two weeks? Is 750 too high? Nah, I'll go with an even 800.

The Head Coach Frenzy has just started. I just read that Nick Saban might be interested in entering the NFL at which I almost puked because I am a Saban Hater!!! We need to take our time and the long time fan in me would like nothing better than Shula 20 taking this team upward.

His passing offense is ranked 26th. And Cam makes a lot of plays with his legs. His didn't wow anyone in Alabama. He's just not very exciting.

If we would have signed Shula back in 07 we would all know by now if he had it or not. He gets 2 interviews here at different junctures. He has never been a NFL HC. But all the Big Legend HC came up and we're assistants or coordinators at some time. Every coach started small and then grew to become great. I really would like to see if Shula could bring the Dolphins back.

If you don't get Shanahan, Coughlin you go get Shula.

Maybe he is content there? Maybe he does not want to be fired in 4 years and lose a good reputation, Miami and Clev are places you go, as a hot coordinator, leave as a failed HC and then you take a job as a poistional coach.
