Why is no one talking about AJ EDDS?

edds...i saw a very average athlete friday...i don't like our backup lb core at all...trusnick meh spitler just cut him...edds is the best but it would be nice to see some explosion there...hoping its the knee and needing time to get it back

I'll agree with Spitler and Trusnick...and even Burnett did not impress. Edds though did have good coverage and he seemed to be around the ball alot. We'll see how he does in the next game...

no doubt he was around the ball a lot...he made the plays he's supposed to make but i didn't see him fire out and make a play that leaves you sayin wow...a play maybe he's not supposed to make

I'll agree; but, just making the plays he is supposed to make is an upgrade from Crowder...

I don't think he is the next Ray Lewis by any stretch. I watched him alot at Iowa. I actually wanted Angerer though...who is starting in Indy of course. Edds though does get into the play and is a hard worker, but he is not flashy...

Doesn't even really look like he's in shape to me.. I understand he's a LB but dude has a beer gut going..

Some dolphin fans are never happy I swear. The guy was all over the place on Friday. Yea he has a nose for the ball but more than that he plays with a high motor. I saw maybe 2 or 3 plays he was out of position. Jimmy Wilson was the stand out DB from Friday and Edds was the stand out LB. Anyone that saw the actual game cant hate on the guy.

All he does is be where he is supposed to be and do what he is supposed to do. He simply makes tackles

I watched the game a few times now and he stunk really bad. Missed tackles, didn't set the edge, and was completely ineffective rushing the passer.

The Dolphins had the money, they should have signed Manny Lawson.

Edds is a situational player at this stage. If he can cover TE's and stuff he will have a role.

We have historically struggled to cover the TEs, probably why he was drafted. No doubt Edds adds good depth.
I was surprised, he looks pretty big.

Edds did well enough to make me feel a bit more comfortable with our depth at ILB but we really need another quality backup. As far as someone mentioning Burnett out of place etc. For goodness sake how did you get that out of his 5-10 snaps? That's just rediculous. I think Edds had about 25 snaps so we got to see a lot more out of him and he looked good not great .

well he covered the TE coming over the middle and played it well. a hell of a lot better than crowder for sure.

all he has to do is cover TE's and make tackles whenever possible. Thats his job.

So who does Edds replace in the nickle, Burnett? He was drafted with the intention of replacing Crowder on passing downs but if Burnett can cover as well as people claim than I don't know where Edds is going to fit. He isn't replacing Dansby in the dime but Id be all for replacing Bell in the dime, where he s basically an extra LB er who can't cover anybody. Thoughts on what our nickle and dime personnel will look like?
