Another big game last night, another 0 stat performance from Porter. Must be nice to be able to watch the game from on the field. Move JT to the right side and play wake on the left and sit JP on the bench. Overpriced sucker punching POS.
 
he has been injured. he was huge for us last year, i'm not one to jump off the bandwagon so quickly.
 
Really? How can you bash a guy who had a season like he did last season. Sure he only has two sacks this year so far, but he is still a big part of the defense. Pressure on the QB does not show up on stat sheets. Plus, he is veteran leader on this team.

Plus, he hasn't been 100% healthy the past few weeks.
 
Are you kidding me? People think because he doesnt show up in the stats, he didnt play good. WRONG. watch the game, he constantly gets double teamed which opens up lanes for other guys to the quarterback.

No he doesn't get double teamed. If it is a big game, he is invisible. Last 4 games last year, 7 tackles 1 sack. This year, 4 games 6 tackles 2 sacks. When your only job is to rush the passer, those numbers are unacceptable.

If Joey Porter is in there on every down, how is his only job to rush the passer?
 
Wake has got to get more playing time regardless...you don't line up a rookie who gets 3 sacks in a game and for all intent and purpose not hardly use the individual the next game.Porter and JT are not this teams future ...Wake should be if used

People want to say Porter is having a good season...please
PORTER-6 TACKLES,2 SACKS,1 FORCED FUMBLE

Harrison 29 tackles,6 sacks,4 forced fumbles...pitts olb

Porter should be traded either now or in the off season for draft picks

Yea, i am not going to look through all the stats, but of his sacks, the pats game had him collect a sack when the fins were up by 15 and 2 more when they were up by 25. mr invisible. He needs to run his mouth so people know he is actually there.
 
After the way our whole entire defense played last night you want to call out Porter individually? This thread is deserving of it's one star rating. Porter is not the beast everyone hypes him up to be but he's definitely still a good player we would be worse off without.
 
A better question is why isn't Cam Wake in the rotation. I didn't see him out there last night except on special teams I believe. I don't see how you get 3 sacks the previous game and then don't get any playing time with a team thats struggling to get consistent pressure on the QB.

How could they have been worse off without him last night? He didn't make one single play the entire game. the jets were blocking him one on one and he was still not getting any pressure.

Wake is still very raw and while he has a heck of a motor he still gets caught out of positions on defense AND special teams. A LOT of the reason he got those sacks was because of the competition he was facing against 4th stringer OT Kirk Chambers. I'm not bashing him, just stating the facts. I believe he'll be pretty good once he catches up with the NFL competition he faces.

You have to ween him in like a baby.

Porter produced pressures. Watch the game again Wednesday night again at 8 ET on NFL Network. He wasn't facing a bunch of chumps either.
