Why Is Pouncey Getting A Free Ride From The Forum?

Pouncey has been horrible at RG. IF we only want to count QB sacks and pressures, before the last game, a strong case can be made for him being worse than Dallas. Not talking overall game, where both have been bad, but pressures alone, which most seem to dwell on.

Pouncey is a proven vet, and Dallas is almost a rookie. Why rip one, and not the other? Just curious.

Because everyone will just say he's playing out of position and he'll be fine once they move him back to Center.

I still get a chuckle thinking back to when we drafted this guy and some on here were already putting him in the hall of fame and saying he was better than Dwight Stephenson.

i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt on the hip but his play still isnt why this teams losing and done right now...we need the pouncey of his first 2 years back next year...especially his 2nd when he was awesome...these last 2 ehhh

Well, he's just not a good guard. Imo he's not big or strong enough to play guard. At center he can use his speed to play better but he's never going to be a good guard. He's getting manhandled by the big DTs and even by some that are not as big.

I've been critical of both, but they aren't the guys who are sinking our season right now.

Starks has definitely fallen off of a cliff, but it's tough to pin the struggles of the defense just on him, while Lazor is a mixed bag for me. I love his work as a QB coach, but I've hated his playcalling the last few games.

IF you want to compare Pouncey and Dallas, throwing out the 4 sacks vs the Ravens, on just sacks an pressures. Dallas, in 385 pass blocks, gave up 2 sacks, 6 hits, and 24 hurries. Pouncey has given up 3- 2- and 22. Dallas is a 2nd year rookie, getting beat out of position. Pouncey is a proven vet getting beat out of position.

Before last Sunday, Dallas was tied for 1st on the team for fewest sacks allowed, 3rd in hits allowed, and 1st in hurries with 24, with James at 23, and Pouncey at 22. Just don't see ripping one, and not the other in pressure stats.

Overall, yes but that's not what many are looking at.

It's been a never-ending story for years. Pouncey is a concern I had not counted on. Is it the hip or the position?

Pouncey is overrated. Dolphins don't have a single ELITE player on the roster. Probably about 25 NFL teams have at least one.

The $7M option is not guaranteed, other than by injury. The team can easily back away, and he would cost nothing.

I'm not giving anyone on the DL a pass other than OV and Shelby but, the last few games Starks has been about as bad as bad can be. Don't know if he is playing hurt. I kinda hope that's it. Otherwise, no way we keep him.

I give Lazor the benefit of doubt with no blocking to open up the playbook.
