Each day, I log on here to get my "Dolphin" fix. I sip my coffee and read about my favorite subjects (Dolphins, Cars, Racing and Porn)

As I scroll thru the topics, its seems that the majority of you all have a man crush on Ryan T and think he's the best thing in the world since someone invented slicing bread... The first few times I've read these posts, I said to myself that you all are friggin nutz... but keeping an open mind and closed mouth, I let the season progress and Ryan develop under the mentorship of Danny boy...

I've seen a drastic improvement in Tanny's play... partially because the O-line is giving him more time, partially because he's developed in the system and partially because he's catching up to the speed of the game, but at the same time, I've seen him make several of the same boneheaded mistakes he made in his first year... Now with all that said, (obviously) my opinion is different from yours...

I grew up watching Bob Griese win his rings, I've seen all 4 of Terry Bradshaws Super Bowls, I attended a few John Elway's games when he played for Stanford and saw Dan Marino and Joe Montana develop since their rookie years and I can tell you in all honesty and sincerity, Ryan Tannehill has not shown anything that'll lead me to believe he is a super star, future pro-bowl or hall of fame quarterback..... (key word is "so far")

So now, I have to ask?? In your opinion, why are you soooooo in love with Ryan T? In my opinion, the coaching staff has done a really good job in covering up his weaknesses and therefore Ryan is a completely serviceable, manageable and usable QB, enough so that I would stop looking for a replacement QB in free agency, but my eyes would always be open for a real franchise QB to come out of the draft...

Okay, well, if you don't think that being a top 5 quarterback in efficiency and touchdown production over an 8 game stretch in which he played 3 top 5 defenses and a couple more units in the top 12 is an indication that he's a good quarterback, then more power to you.

Maybe you can convince Dennis Hickey to swing a trade for Johnny Manziel.

Spend more time thinking about porn.

First let's get the important stuff out of the way. Just a helpful tip, you should stop reading porn it's much more enjoyable to watch

Secondly , I think a lot of the Tannehill "love" comes from the fact that we have scored 30+ points four times this year and I believe we lead the league in two score victories. Things we haven't seen since Marino was in his prime.

How about we turn it around this way, where are all his 'game changing' players he has on offense like most of the other playoff type teams? All pro RB? Great offense line? Monster tight end or big body WR?

He's playing at a high level in the past 8 games. Is he immune to a bad game? No. He's got improvements to make in his mental game and he needs to learn how to win the close ones, but at his current rate of growth, he'll be a top QB in the coming 4-5 years.

And let me add this, the idea that his 'weaknesses are being covered up' is sort of strange. How are his weaknesses being covered up?

- If we say that his deep ball is no good, do we give him a guy with a big catch radius who is great at tracking the football who can go up and get it? Like an Alshon Jeffery? No. We give him Mike Wallace, who needs the ball placed right in his breadbasket.

- If we say that his pocket presence isn't good enough, do we give him a great offensive line? No. We give him a guy who was sitting on his couch in August, Mike Pouncey playing out of position, Daryn Colledge, Dallas Thomas, and a rookie.

- If we say that he isn't good enough in the red zone, do we give him a great big-bodied tight end? No. We give him Charles Clay, who I think is the smallest starting TE in the entire NFL.

- If we say that he can't carry the offense on his shoulders, do we give him a top tier bell-cow type of running back? No, we give him a beat up Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas.

We are not covering up Ryan Tannehill's weaknesses. Ryan Tannehill is overcoming his own flaws and those of the rest of the offense. This is something I've been saying going back to last year; it's what made me realize he was gonna be our answer at QB. We send him out there against top tier defenses with a team that isn't constructed to help him and he is still getting it done with efficiency numbers that indicate he is a top level quarterback right now.

It ain't about Ryan Tannehill. I'm no fanboy. I don't like Texas A&M, I didn't even know anything about the guy until we drafted him. I didn't buy in until year two. I'm a Dolphins fan who has suffered Jay Fiedler, Ray Lucas, Tyler Thigpen, Sage Rosenfels, Cleo Lemon, Gus Frerotte, Daunte Culpepper, etc. etc. etc. This guy is good. Sit back, enjoy, watch your team be relevant again.

If you want to see a QB whose team covers up his weaknesses, look no farther than Any Dalton. That guy blows. He is Chad Henne with All-Pro/Pro Bowl talent surrounding him at every position, and the Bengals only let him throw the ball when they can create circumstances to favor the passing game.

"Serviceable" I see is the new CYA rhetoric for "as reality suggests I just may have been wrong but I've dug myself into such a deep hole with my unwavering agenda that there's no face-saving way to extricate myself. So to validate my credibility I'll just continue to hope for the worst for Tannehill."

First of all, you are arguing against a position (that Tannehill is a future HOFer) that has never been taken. Most are saying he is one of the best young QBs. That much is true. He is playing at a very high level and doesn't appear to be done improving. What's not to like?

You seem to be one of the many (but shrinking numbers) that insist on comparing Tannehill to your faulty memory of HOF QBs or to the highlight reels of current QBs. For the first time in a long time, we have a QB that we can build around. Sit back and enjoy it.

Beyond the fact that he has dramatically improved over the last 8 games....which followed progression from year one to year two......and the fact that he is physically very talented........tough as nails....and just a high character good overall kid.......

I don't know why we like him so much?

For me its got a lot to do with over a decade of frustration following Marino of starting the Jay Fiedlers of the world.....and finally having a talented young QB lead this team who has progressed nicely into his third year....despite many weaknesses in his supporting cast through most of his time here.

I believe you nailed it, there's quite a few that have disappeared lately, they must be pretty damn upset about the recent QB play. Also, no surprise coming from your recent poll.

No, IMO, It's Time To Move On

First bad game and the rats will return to "close the book" on him.
