Q: The more I watch Patrick Cobbs play, I think the coaching staff should find ways of getting him on the field more with the offense. He's unbelievable. Second, I don't know why everyone is wondering who should start opposite Ted Ginn, Jr. They should be wondering who should be starting instead of him. Just because he's a first-round draft pick doesn't make him a starter; he doesn't block well at all. They would be better off starting Davone Bess, who catches just about everything thrown his way, and Greg Camarillo. Even coming off a leg injury he does more on the field then Ginn Jr. Wayne P., Hanover Township, Penn.

: Wayne, totally agree with you about Cobbs. It's easy to see why he's such a Sparano favorite. No matter where you put him, the guy just makes plays. As for Ginn, his unique ability to stretch the field will keep him in the lineup through this year at least. But I agree, seeing him blow a block, like the other night on that flanker screen to Bess, can be frustrating to watch.[/QUOTE]

Ginn stays the start right now b/c he is the guy with the long ability. I think that if he doesnt get it done this year though, we look for either a solid vet number 1 or we promote hartline or bess. i think the better thing would be to go after a solid number 1. but lets how Teddy breaks out this season!

Probably because Wayne P., Hanover Township, Penn. hasn't shown up to replace him.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Ginn is one of the only "playmakers" that we have on offense, that is why he will start. All of our other recievers are possesion guys, that is what makes Ginn stand out.

In theory that's what the number nine overall pick would bring to you but... Yeah I think a fair open competition would have served the team better this year... I think Ginn knows just what he has to do to continue getting paid and does nothing more than that... From his slight frame (not noticeably getting bigger) to his game (running routes and his toughness) hasn't changed much since he was drafted... However the change of Ginn isn't necessarily the answer, adding to him a prime-time player in the caliber of a young Brandon Marshall or someone like veteran TJ Housh this past offseason would have been great. Imagine Bess, Ginn and a solid go too guy... A young Jevan Snead wouldn't be a bad thing either.

ginn has the speed to open up things underneath. teams must respect that speed.

u take ginn out of this offense u make it much easier for teams to just load up coverages underneath.

not that penny helps in that regard either.

In order to be a playmaker you have to actually make plays. You really can't seriously say Ginn has done that on a consistent basis since being in Miami. Heck per minute on the field Cobb, who is mentioned in the article is 20 times the playmaker Ginn is.

Ginn is provides this offense with something our other recievers can't and that is speed. He has to start because he is our best option.

Ginn couldn't catch a cold in the winter in Alaska...he can't block for his life and he scares no one.

I suppose this is right, because he has made multiple big plays in his two years. I count the TD vs the Jets wtith the nice push off and the Seattle catch.

What others?

Don't forget Ginn's only 100 plus yard receiving game against the lousy Bills. Once in two years...but he's the best the Dolphins have...Hmmm.

how bout all those kicks he returned for TD's but got called back by holding, or that end around against Oakland where he mushed Asomugah on the way to pay dirt. the guys got talent...
