Why is the media completely glossing over the timing of Martin's breakdown??

Have you seen our 2nd half schedule? Not saying any game is a given, but there's a strong possibility that we would go 6-2 in the final 8 games. Now, I'm not so sure. Our performance against Tampa will be telling and IMO will make or break the season. Never thought I'd say that about a game against a winless team, but it is what it is.

Not sure why you think there is such a strong possibility of that we could go 2-6. Hell we dont know. No games are gimmes. We lost to the worst team in our division with thier third string qb playing.
There is a possibility we go 6-2 and alot of other possibilities. Havent seen anything in our play which suggests we will go 6-2

Because they went all in with crushing the Dolphins Franchise, and now that everyone is hearing what was actually happening (Martin bailed on the trip after everything was already paid, he never said anything to anybody, laughed about the voicemail, picked Incognito as a leader), ESPN can't turn back now. They will ignore the rest of the facts. Especially Schefter.

I'm keeping quiet on formulating a true opinion until all sides have spoken. Right now, all we're hearing from are people around the situation but who are not either of the two parties involved. I still think there are more layers to this onion that have yet to be pulled back

Obviously you need reading lessons. First sentence, I stated that no game is a given...

I have yet to hear a single national media person acknowledge that Martin walked out of the team shortly after having his preferred position and struggles at RT the day before.

Unless there was a recent event between Cog and Martin that has not yet been reported, the timing does not support the bullying angle, it supports a stress angle related to performance issues.

Yes, he broke down after a prank, but it was a prank he himself participated in many times with seemingly no issues. Why would this event be the catalyst? Because he was already having a bad day and was stressed out due to performance issues and position change!

How is he media completely missing out on this? The bullying angle would only make sense if the VM was from a week ago.

My exact thought since it went down,Martin was moved from the Left tackle (Big money) to the right tackle,(Good money) position.

1)Having feelings that the NFL life isn't for him and or mental struggles, wants to quit(This is the biggest question)
2)OTA's Martin hearing negative chatter about his not showing for involuntary OTA's and performance .Getting ribbed by Cogs
3)Getting thrown from the left to the right side week prior to melt down.
4)Prank which was played on Garner the week before which I'm sure he knew about but decided it's a good time to bail.

The media only speaks on that which furthers it's own agenda/narrative. If it doesn't fit, it's thrown out completely. Logic usually doesn't go hand in hand with today's news.

Yes u said no game is a given, didnt see anything u said that shows there is a strong possibility of us going 6-2.
Why is there such a strong possibility. we lost at home to two teams with losing records. Got beat by a Pats team that was missing alot of players.
We still Play Pats again, Have yet to play Jets who have better record than us right now, still have to travel to buff. Have San diego coming in.
Have Carolina coming to town. In fact we have three games in cold weather cities in Dec.

The only gimme on that schedule would seem to be Tampa Bay.

So how would me taking reading lessons turn your statement that there is a strong possibilty of going 6-2 to any thing different.

Because they dont have any evidence there was a breakdown. Thats Finheaven being Finheaven.

The only thing they have alluding to that is Martin's hospital visit. And they've reported that. Constantly.

They cant make the jump and make a diagnosis from that. Could you imagine if they got it wrong, the liability of it? Shattering.

People like to beat up the media because its a convenient target. Its everywhere and nowhere, bias can be accused but never has to be proven. But they have to be really damn careful when it comes to this stuff. Because if they get something like that wrong, Martin could eat them alive. As he should, just like Josh Freeman should eat alive the Bucs for releasing his medical information.

Didn't Martin check into a treatment facility?

And the most sensational narrative available, and the one that attracts the most attention, which is the media's goal, is "white man oppresses black man and calls him the 'N' word, which makes black man suffer and walk out on his job."

As soon as that narrative gets any momentum, other possible narratives that fit the data just as well or better are going to have a world of trouble getting off the ground and getting any attention.

Mark Twain said, "A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes." :)

Stop bullying me!!!

Where's my lawyer...

Bart Hubbuch just brought this up on PFT Live. That Martin was upset about being demoted and losing his job as starting LT. Get ready for it, the worm is going to turn.

I see but because Incognito has a past they don't have to worry about being wrong or jumping to assumptions. We have an incomplete email that we haven't heard only been given a written version of it. You realize that Shefter by taking one side of this story basically ended Richie's career. BUt of course that's ok because he used the N-word with a friend which none of us know the context too. Gotcha. That sounds reasonable.

The 'N' word acts as a magnet and pulls all the attention toward it and away from every other possible explanation for this situation.

BINGO. Politics being pulled into sports....as if there wasn't enough already with that whole Redskins situation. More and more liberal BS trying to show the racism that exists in the NFL....When no one really gives a ****.

Yes, repeat offenders usually dont get the same level of discretion as first time offenders, especially when they are the ones provoking the incidents.

The media, like the law, takes into account previous behavior. At some point in time, these things stop being isolated events and start becoming a pattern of behavior.
