Just turned on the North Carolina/Miami game and noticed that there is still dirt on the field at Dolphin Stadium. The Marlins ended their home schedule last Sunday. They couldn't fill it in with grass in 5 days? I hope its gone for next Sunday's Dolphins/Chargers game. I hate have the dirt there and the sooner the Marlins get their own stadium, it will be better for everybody.

anyone see the blocks in that game lol i made a thread in the CF forum if u guys want to talk about the game, and yea that dirt is annoying

The regular MLB season doesn't end until after Sunday

Ya, but the Marlins last home game was last Sunday. So they had time this past week to put in the grass over the dirt. There was pretty much no chance of the Marlins making the playoffs at that point.

This is pretty much ridiculous. We are not a small market team. Yet we share a field with the Canes and the Marlins? What's next, we put a dome on Dolphin Stadium and bring in the Heat and the Panthers? I could be mistaken, but I don't know of any other NFL franchise that shares their field with a MLB team.

Maybe the had to wait until the Marlins were officially elimanted from the playoffs, which I guess was a couple of days ago. Thus they did not have time to put the grass down for today's game. I'm sure it will be fixed for next Sunday.

I thought I read somewhere the turf is going in right after this game....

Oakland and Minnesota both do I think.

The Dolphins share their field with the Marlins because Joe Robbie built the stadium with a wider than normal field in anticipation of a future MLB team playing their. When MLB awarded an expansion team to Miami, Huizenga immediately converted the stadium to a multi-purpose facility to accmodate what was to become the Florida Marlins.

Three NFL teams currently share their field with a MLB team, Miami, Minnesota and Oakland. However, all three MLB teams are trying to move into their own stadium.

Athletics and Raiders are one, Twins and Vikings are two, Marlins and Dolphins are three

Maybe they did have time to put in the grass but with certain games being threatened by weather, there was talk of using Dolphins stadium to host some games, in order for the MLB playoffs to start on time.
