Why it is beneficial for Phins/Manning to delay

Honestly we are going to need a wr. Say what you want about marshall but that is going to be a huge hole to fill on our wr spot.

what do you mean by "long requested"? Marshal wanted out? Why do I have the sinking feeling that we made this horrible trade and we are going to be spurned by Manning? Why wouldn't you wait until Manning is on the team before dealing Marshal? Don't get it...

Marshall had been hinting at teaming up with Cutler for a while.  It was reported that his agent said it had been in the works for a while.

And my whole point is that if Manning is on the team (in other words, things have been agreed to in principle), you don't want that cat out of the bag for some very good reasons.  But the trade had to happen now because otherwise the Bears were going after V Jax.

But Wayne paired with another "quite good" WR would be more than enough for Manning (e.g. draft pick).  Manning likes to spread the ball around.  He doesn't want or need a guy who implicitly or explicitly demands 50% of your targets.
