Why Josh McCown? The former Arizona, Detroit and Oakland washout is apparently Bill Parcells' choice to hold down the quarterback fort until John Beck or someone else takes the offense's reigns and finally settles Miami's most frustrating and perpetual talent problem: finding a quarterback.

Signing McCown is great except that a look at his career stats shows he's Jay Fiedler, only not as good. Fiedler's career stats of 69 touchdowns, 66 interceptions and a 77 quarterback rating are the envy of McCown's 35 touchdowns, 40 interceptions and 71 rating.

Ummmm..... for that last time, heres the answer to your question in the form of a question. Who has available that you wanted to sign? Name one FA QB that was any better? We had one QB on the roster and we werent going to draft two. So we signed McCown. There ya go.
