no your wrong marino did get it done, his defense and running game did not!
people are just mad that marino has all the stats and is the most talented qb ever. just admit it he is the best it will make you feel better!
 
When you put up 46 points in a game and still loose, it wasn't the QB who didn't get the job done. No QB plays Defense, Marino carried the offense on his shoulders, had the D been able to do THEIR job and stop somebody at least once, then things would have been different. SB are a TEAM accomplishment, if you don't have a good enough team around you, there is nothing you can do to win.

try this. in 1984 when marino set his Single season TD mark the CB's could basically rape the WRs in the first 5 yards. You were also allowed to hit the qb back then. The game is completely different now. I dont know why they even have defences any more. The NFL for all practical purposes is handcuffing them now in order to let offences score more points. they are basically taking everything marino did back when the NFL played football (not this PEWEE crap they play now) and spitting on it.
 
Very nice article, winning a superbowl is a great team efford and very rewarding. However who think that Dan is not the best because has not won a SB, show's to me how little knowledge this people have about football.

By your logic, Dilfer is a better QB than Marino.
 
I just want those who say that it is all on Marino as to why he never won a SB to point out 1team, one single team that won a SB w/o a solid running game and a good if not great D.

Montana had 1 single year that SF's D was not the best(24th or something) and only a couple outside of the top 3.

Marino spent the first 15 years w/ Ds' that were not among the top of the NFL. Actually he only had 2 years that the D cracked the top 10.

Montana's Ds' #1,#2,or #3
Marino's #19,#26......

Get a real grip and read the facts. Better yet, maybe I will take some time and put together a list of accomplishments of the Qb's and their respective teams. Leaving off the names and just the facts. I bet you can pick which set of #s' won the SB. When a qb plays well and the D is #1 and the rb is a pro-bowler and the wrs' to. it will become painfully obvious who did the best w/ the surrounding cast.they were given.
 
I would have to say if the big dance determines getting it done, then the best Qb would have to be one of two.

Doug Williams(ydg record) or Steve Young(6 Tds' in one SB)
