Suh views acupuncture as a part of his health plan.
"At the end of the day it's about finding different ways to push your body, allowing your body to adapt and adjust to different things and keep it always guessing on how and what's going to be best for it to recover because if you do continuous things you body is going to eventually adapt to it and it won't be as effective," Suh said. "Recovery is a big thing. Staying strong is one of the bigger things as well. Guys think just being in weight room is enough. You've got to actually lift the weights. Stretching is a huge thing for me. I could talk for hours on this stuff."

Interesting. I can't say I blame him. Everybody is different, so what ever works for you is all that matters. He also mentioned stretching. I can say that that is by far the most beneficial for me (that and massage). I thought I was going to have to have surgery for plantar fasciitis, but thankfully stretching every day in a hot shower has helped me avoid that. NOTE: If anybody is suffering from that, I would be happy to pass along my situation and what I did to help it.

I'd love any info you got on it. I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for years, as well as general foot/ankle/calf pain and horrible tightness. I've stretched, used foam rollers, and even picked up a Pure Wave massager (which is really intense) and I can't seem to make any progress. Going on a 1 mile run is enough to nearly incapacitate me from walking for hours.

I have used acupuncture for neck pain and migraines and feel like I haven't seen benefit. I

Not suprising. Look at James Harrison, the use of acupuncture is actually a huge benefit to anyone looking for muscle and pain relief. The future pre-med student in me would encourage anyone health issues or not to at least attempt having the procedure done

Will be happy to try and help. Please check your messages.

I'm also a great believer in acupuncture. Many years ago I had some real pain with sciatica and saw physical therapists over several weeks but progress was minimal and I still had the pain. A friend recommended an acupuncturist and in one visit, I was completely fixed. It turns out that I have a body that completely responds to it (and that is not the case for everyone). I often wonder why more players don't try acupuncture when trying to recover from injury. Despite the myth, it doesn't hurt - the needles are so fine that you can hardly feel them.
The thing is that it doesn't work perfectly for everyone but it's a fantastic quick cure if your body is responsive and you go to a good acupuncturist. I'm with Ndamukong - strong recommendation.
BTW - I don't profess to understand how or why acupuncture works (something about meridians within the body), I just know it does for me. An analogy to this is that people don't need to understand how the flow of electrons produces the electric current to turn on a light when they flick a switch, they just know and expect it to work.

I personally see the biggest difference in athletic performance when I take a poop right before I play sports. It works better than any other pre-workout ritual and nothing makes me feel better.

The pre-game or pre-practice poop should be a mandatory staple in the NFL. Though god bless the pipes for whichever toilet Jordan Phillips uses

Rest is the only thing that really fixes it. Sleep with your foot off the bed toes facing down too.

My doctor gave me a brace that had an air pump thingy in it to wear while on my feet at work. Did wonders.

I had PF last year and it was awful. Like you I tried everything from stretching to inserts to Cortizine and nothing really helped. A guy at my gym suggested Acupuncture and I reluctantly tried it. After 4 sessions my pain was gone!!!

That last session was over 6 months ago and I am back to running over 20 miles a week pain free! I highly recommend you trying it.
