why no trade or picks for Zach?

Why didn't the Dolphins try to trade him and mabe get a draft pick for him. Why did they just cut him?
 
I personally think they are doing these cuts because of there Salary and i think we will have a BIG year in FA like the Pats had last year

I know Zach is good, but no one really wants to trade for a 35 year old LB who was injured for half the year last year.

basically he would be a tough one to trade. he would cost too much with the salary for other teams, injury woes gives him a longevity questionmark (due to concussions), and Parcells is trying to make a lot of cap room for free agency coming up soon as well as the draft... a trade would take much time for Zach Thomas, so this would be the bestest choice to do.... sad though, i will miss him.
 
Big salary...and odds are he can't play any more even if he does is it 1 or 2 games?

The guy is done, if miami thought they could of got even 1/2 a year out of him he'd still be here.

The guy was the best MLB i've seen since 1985 he should walk away since he still can.
 
Could it also have been done to allow Zach to decide which team he wants to play for?

EXACTLY!!!! Now Zach can go wherever he wants. I am sure they would not have sent him to a crappy team.
 
We wouldnt have gotten much, and respect. Zach should be able to pick his own team at this point, even if it costs us a 6th rounder.
 
How much would you give up for a 35 year old undersized linebacker who just had a concussion?

Answer: nothing

Which is why they cut him....and why they cut the other 9 guys earlier in the week.
Nobody would give us anything for them.

well now he is released he can choose to wher eto go, and most likely a contender to hopefully obtain that ring before his time is done. Good luck Zach!!!

if its not gonna be the fins... obviously the first team i want to go the distance... i tend to chear for players usually. and Zach will be a top one!!!
