If we're gonna ditch someone, I think it should be Lemon. He hasn't ever really proved himself, but CPep has. Probowls and whatnot. I'm sure CPep would bring down his price and contract if he was guaranteed a shot at fighting for the starting position. Though I'm sure we promised it to Green.

Thoughts?

Can I ask you a serious question? Why does it matter?

Read up on the salary cap implications of that move. We just signed Lemon to a 1 year tender of 1.3 million. He isnt going to be cut. We were even trying to sign Lemon to a longer term deal. Lemon is going to be the #2/#3 QB this year.

Personally, I'd be all for that but clearly they just don't think Culpepper brings enough to the table for them.

Because Lemon could actually run away from the defense if he can't find an open receiver. Daunte would only take a sack like he did 21 times in 4 games last season.:sidelol:

Sure, anyway.

I think it's a legitimate question. If we could restructure his contract, I'd like to have my back-up QB be a pro-bowler and a leader that this team responds to. Rather then someone who needs a lot of work to become pro-bowl status and hasn't ever seen enough actual playing time to be comfortable out there.

But the thing is, its not a legitimate question and it is no where near legitimate and I will tell you why...Because 100% culpepper will not be a dolphins going into the season...We all know this so why bother even discussing it...Why do you want to discuss a player who 100% will not be on the team. Do you enjoy wasting your time?

I always thought asking why was a legitimate question, regardless if everyone thinks one way or another. Yes, Culpepper isnt going to be a dolphin going into the season, but why not?

If we can't ask why, if we refuse the possability of change and merely accept the world for what it is and never try to change it, or at least wonder what the world would be like differently, then what's the point in anything?

What's the point in replying to this message? Or to the original one? Nay, what's the point in breathing if you're only going to die.

:-D

You do realize that he'd have to want to restructure his contract. They can't just do it on their own whim.

The only answer you need is....Because coach told him directly

You failed to mention the possibility that keeping Culpepper would create a split locker room atmosphere among other things.

There are quite a few reasons. One big one wou;d be this: ALLIANCES. Lemon, and everyone on the team knows that Cleo Lemon is a backup. If we were to keep Culpepper and release Lemon, then you'd possibly create a divided locker room. You'd have some guys, if only because of personal feelings, siding with Culpepper to be the starter. Then you'd have the other guys who are wanting Green. As we all know the biblical saying: a house divided against itself can not stand.

OK, I'll give ya that. But it just seems a waste, to let a talented (when healthy) qb go while keeping an unproven qb for backup. I dunno. I think people would get over it.

I'd just hate to have something happen to Green and then be screwed. Not that Lemon is terrible, but imagine a healthy Culpepper as our backup. It would be nice.

Shame to see it go this way
