It sems Monroe will be off the marketand he'd cost us a lot anyway. Albert would also cost a lot. No matterhow you look at it, we need 4 new guys and we can't get them all in free agency so......why not get 2 guards which would cost less money and then draft 2 OT's? Rookies cost a lot less now and you can grow your team with them. I know some people here feel that we can't have a rookie LT protecting Tanny.I understand but why over pay so much for a free agent OT with all the holes we have? Also, 2 of the best LT play we ever got came from Webb and Long in their rookie years. Plenty of good OT's in the draft. We can draft one at 19 and another in round 3 to go along with 2 veteran guards and keep the cap in check. 2nd ound you can do whatever you want. I'd love a veteran OT too but it might not be the best thing to do.

Would you guys be against this?

Ozzy rules!!

If we had a top five pick you could draft a tackle no sure thig at lt where we pick

It depends on how you want to approach things. Conceiveably there is a lot of OT talent to be had in the 2nd and 3rd rd, but none worth a 1st. Maybe a trade back a few spots, you could still get a couple tackles like Mewhort, Bitonio, Moses, Turner, all of whom would probably start for Miami, and maybe get a guy in the 1st like Kelvin Benjamin or a nice DB.

Of course now you have a rookie at LT. Is that what you want?

The only LT prospect I really see after the first round is Brandon Thomas, and he'd be the shortest LT in the league if he played there (great length tho). Most of the prospects after Martin are RT's or guards. Maybe Morgan Moses in round 2, but I want to go out and get a LT and add a guard. Then one more stop gap guy and go from there.

This draft is deep with guards. Not a lot of starting calibur tackles.

Actually it is just the opposite there may be 4 round one tackles draft this year. Not so much on the guards.

I think there are guys who could turn into very good LT, Mewhort, Bitonio, Turner, Richardson, but they aren't ideal and aren't guys who could get drafted and start at LT. Seantrel Henderson is another who clearly has the physical tools but a severe lack of motivation, almost like he plays football because he thinks he's supposed to or just doesn't know anything else. I'd love for Miami to get him late and let Benson work on him for a while.

Most OT's struggle in their first year, some beyond that, and I'm talking about 1st round cream of the crop. I believe that IF we tried to start two rookie OT's this year, that our OL would be worse than last year.

I still want to draft an OT to compete to start at RT but no way two to start.

I remember when the Canes got Henderson. I was excited. He was gonna be the best OT in the country, and then was amazed on him wasting his talent. Don't know if he can turn things arourd for money.

Sign Schwartz from K.C put him at rg,A.Collins lt, draft Lewan or Martin in1st Siuia Filo (sp) in2nd bpa after that. That leaves a ton of money for free agency for f.s.,cheap dt.vet rb(Gerhart)sign Ryan Harris t from Texans vet backup familiar with zbs and coaching. With Scwartz and Lewan or Martin you could really pound the rock on right side and lose nothing in pass pro.By trading Moore (5TH) and Martin (6th) your able to fill out roster.

I like RT and a guard in FA then LT and a guard in the draft 1/2.

I think I agree with you on the balance, but not the positions. I would try to get a LT and a guard in Free agency, and then a guard and tackle through the draft. I think it will be tough in our draft position to find a starting left tackle in this draft. If I'm going to take risk, it will be on the right side.

2-3 OL in FA (RG Asamoah, LT Collins preferably, etc)
2 in the draft (RT Ja'Wuan James in the 2nd, LG Chris Watt in the 4th)

Agreed. With the amount of open slots, you will really have to double dip in both FA and the draft.
Also, I'm not waiting until May to find my LT, it's too important to chance it at #19
