I think that for the most part, people will agree that Henne has taken the mantle as future of the franchise. Now its turn into Beck needs to be traded. Personally i think this would be a horrible move. We all know that Pennington isn't going to want to stay around here and play second string to Henne. I propose that we keep Beck on as our second string QB. I think that most people would agree that he would be a good second string should Henne go down. Keeping Beck on the roster would keep us from having another Ray Lucas on the field to screw up our entire season.

Please I think the issue is getting a bit overblown here. Quite simply he is not Parcell's pick. They do not like that fact and are working to trade him. What he does afterwards in his new team we can use as a barometer to evaluate the move. I personally think he would be better than Henne but in all reality it really does not matter what I think it matters what Parcells wants.

trade value i guess... if we know we are going in different direction with the future of the QB position... get the most out of him in a draft pick that you can... if you cant get anything, then yes hold on to him and see what happens...

Why not close this thread? Enough with the Beck threads. I've never seen so much time invested in a debate for who is going to be our practice squad QB.

Like him or not, one thing for sure is, everything that needs to be said about him has been said. Never have i seen so much attention given to a guy who has done nothing.

TO MUCH salary and NOT ENOUGH production.

better the cap relief and a POSSIBLE 6th ot 7th
round pic than paying him second round money
and not much hope of anything useable in the
near future.

If Beck were #2 I would go scared sh**less for the #1 to get hurt - talk about nervous our season would be a f**king train wreck if we ended up handing the reins to him instead of Pennington or Henne which should be the 1 & 2 this season.

YES!!!! Another Beck thread! I love this game!!

You only need 1 young QB on your roster if the guy is good. You surround him with vets to help him develop better and to provide bench insurance. That is why you don't keep Beck. I am sure this was answered in the 6 million other threads, but your post was so unique and insightful that I see why you HAD to make it.

Beck may turn out to be a decent QB....I know we can't evaluate him just based on last year's play, but we have four quarterbacks in camp and I think we can only keep three. If we can get a 5th or 6th rounder for him then I think that would be worthwhile.....hopefully between now and the regular season someone will make us a decent offer.

Not another Beck thread! :shakeno:

Exactly, NABT!

Seriously, there is nothing good that can come out of this. Even though your post may be rational and well-thought out, too many people on both sides of this argument have been offended by someone else and now react with emotion on these topics rather than logic.

This may be something that can be talked about a month or two after this whole fiasco is over, But now? Not so much...
