I dont understand, Im sure he would have restructured his contract and played a back up role. He had good chemistry with the offense and was established in our system..not to mention he's backed up culpepper before...

dont get it, i thought he did a nice job last year

No, he didn't want to restructure. He was too used to being a starter, and wanted starter money, but I wanted to keep him too.
 
he wasn't willing to restructure his contract, atleast not by much. and i don't blame him on that, most of his contract was on incentives. and it kind of blew up in our face when he actually earned them all.
 
He did not want to be a back-up on this team and I totally understand. I would have liked to have kept him tho
 
I don't imagine he took to kindly to getting fired and then asked to come back and work for less. Understandable, but it was a buisiness decision - the guy made too much money for a second-stringer. I can see why he would not want to return, but I also think the team did what they had to do in cutting him.
