Why not play Fales and Doughty today ?

Hello,

First I'am from France and so when you read this topic and our beloved fin take the fields today it will be late here in France, so I wish an happy 2018 New Years from my house at every dolfans around the world.

I am on Game bandwagon but I don't understand why he don't play our young QB today.

We need to know if they can play at this level.

I know many here think Doughty is not NFL material but how to know if he never play !
And for Fales , what we have to loose ?
 
We are giving Fales the 1st team snaps. Doughty sucks. Small hands. Remember John Beck? That's small hands. Fumbles and bad throws under pressure.
 
Fales is not an NFL level qb. Honestly think there are qb's that will get drafted in the 6th or 7th round this year that have a better shot. He's had four seasons in the league and is still a practice squad/lower level 3rd string qb. If you're not at least at the backup level by your 4th year it's likely not going to happen for you.
 
Well, it already did. He was #2 for us in a few games. We're giving him 1st team snaps. The hardest part of our offense is knowing it and pre-snap reads. Gase wouldn't ride Moore cause he couldn't do it. If he's even giving him a shot it's cause he can.

Romo tore it up with the cowboys after Dennis Green stuck by him as his pet QB for 4 years. Green got ran out from AZ, Romo cut, signed by Dallas after Quincy Carter got cut for snorting cocaine. Dallas signed Bledsoe and Testaverde. When they got injured they played Romo and you know the rest of the story.

Just ridiculous that Gase being the QB guru that he’s perceived to be doesn’t have a young QB he’s grooming. He should know by know that Fales is not the answer. You can’t tell me Fales is the best option he could find and come up with in two years. If that’s the case we are screwed. So I guess we’re screwed but we knew that. Please find a QB in this years Draft because I’m running out of time lord!!
 
because we are the dolphins and these are the kind of meaningless games we win. We cost ourselves a higher pick, and then take another O lineman. We will neglect the QB position for another 4-5 years. rinse and repeat

I'm pessimistic on Fakes, but given the circumstances, give him a shot to show his talent

So we should just draft a QB without rhyme or reason? I mean there is plenty of QB talent in the top 2 rounds...some that are good to groom and develop, after that you are hoping for raw talent that has been coached poorly or a kid that slipped through. The issue is, if there is no one that is worth working with, you are using a pick that could be used in another area. As far as "Fales being the best option"...Tannehill is his best option, unfortunately, Tannehill listen to some poor advice from doctors and didn't get his knee surgically repaired and reinjured it. Most teams don't have a young good developmental QB...there are just not that many NFL QBs around...if there was you wouldn't see 10 plus team each year needing to upgrade the position.

Unless you're an orthopedic surgeon with access to his medical records, you don't know that.

Who said just draft a QB without any rhyme or reason? I’m saying that since Gase is such a guru shouldn’t he have someone behind Tanny besides Fales. Fales sucks and he’s seen Fales for at least 3 yrs. Yes draft a QB be it in 1st 2nd 3rd I don’t care what round but Gase should be able to recognize a QB he likes and get him regardless what pick it is. QB most important position on the team you should always have a solid backup plan for the future
 
Fales will get snaps in the 2nd half, and then I can start burning the time Jay Cutler was the Dolphins QB from my memory.
 
I think Fales could be okay. I see no reason to keep Doughty on the team. Fales kind of reminds me of Pennington at times. But if Fales playing really well plays a part in Not drafting a QB early I’ll be disappointed.
