I think coaches and coordinators let there egos get in the way. I remember Daniel Tomas running sweeps last year inside the ten yard line. And why not have our Qb roll out more? And why did we not blitz more on defense. List goes on and on. I believe it is harder to find players for a coaches system rather then have a system for what players you have.

A lot of that bizarre play calling and utilization of talent emanated from Shermin's mind. His ego is gone and we have a new OC.
Out talent was lacking especially running the ball. That created limitations as well. We have a new GM.
IMHO, we blitzed to much and teams were quick to figure out our scheme. They were running right into our blitzes and our tacklers sucked.
It is still early and the team has not filled all our needs and upgraded other positions.
All I can tell you is that no one really knows how this team will play this year. We have to wait and judge at mid season. By then, we should have some games to critique.

Just like players have their strengths, so do coaches. You want the coach to coach his scheme, just as much as you want a player to play to his strengths. So if you want a scheme to match the players, then find a coach who scheme matches the players.

But man it was just a year ago, all of you guys were screaming for an uptempo passing offense. Have yall giving up on that desire?

I still can not get over "GO GO GO" Phibin may be a good X and O guy but not head coach material. Wanny, Cam , Sporano, and now Philbin

Go go was a joke. High school team could have beat our snap count. We need a balanced team. Run hard set up play action and deep ball. Pick up first downs. Score tds not fgs. We need to get the talent we have to produce no matter what.

God.. The Thomas sweeps. Why did you remind us? Idk if it was more on Philbin or Sherman but we can only hope that Lazor helps out the equation.

Same thing on D though... Dion should've been used a lot more in coverage

Edit: Ahhhh the go-go too... Just dreadful

regarding your query OP.. that kind of thinking in MIA went out with the Shula years.. we're the "in-the-box" thinking team
