Last week he said he would draft Alex Smith and now he said he would draft Braylon Edwards if Smith is not available. Its sounds straightforward to me.
Why is everyone trying to make it something that its not?

Because those are the only two players in this entire draft that teams would trade up to #2 overall to get. If we say we're taking a guy and he's not one of them, that's a problem if we want to trade down.

Which word....first it was running back....then Smith...now Edwards....for all we know he could select benny goodman.

Because he has also said from the beginning that he wants to trade down. Saban is blowing smoke all over the place and no one, I mean no one, knows what he will do. That's why this will be the most exciting draft ever!

Hell yeah, he is blowing more smoke than Ricky backstage at a Grateful Dead show who's performing on a Cheech and Chong movie set!!

Because its the NFL Draft and at this time of the game no one believes anyone at anytime!

I still think its running back. Saban just did everything he could to make it less obvious. CAlling Ricky, throwing out Braylon and Smith's names to the media, and resighning Minor (Who i think will be cut by June 1st.). I thnk Ronnie Brown is the best all around player in the draft, and with Houck shaping our O-line he might have a monster year. Houck definatley had somethign to do with Ladanian Sucess, not taking anything away from Ladanian.

If that's true then why blow all the smoke? He knew the Niners were going QB and he could have had Brown all along. He has publicly stated that none of the RB's were worth the #2 pick. I am positive that he has bigger plans! Can't wait.

I don't think he ever said he would draft Smith. He said he would not discount it. He hasn't actually said he would draft any specific player.

Now that old smokey for sure.

Somethings are exactly as seem... We're not drafting a RB at #2. The value isn't in our favor and either the BPA.

Is Benny Goodman available?

You guys are all nuts.

We are taking a kicker with the number two.
Silly.

Yes he is....he has alittle wear on him....but he'll play cheap....and at half time he'll entertain.

I'm not taking him at his word becuase I'm not that keen on Edwards.....I could live with Smith, for that matter I could live with Edwards as well...eventually. Besides I'm leaning on taking him at his "word" about the wanting extra picks. It's just a judgement call on my part:)
