i know i will get my head ripped off for this but w/e....i just read that Chris Henry will only face a 4 game suspension. Why dont we just sign him and give him a chance, we have NOTHING to lose. He is a proven receiver with a history. If dallas can take PACMAN, Tank Johnson, TO, ect and make them all quality starters why cant we? we just give him a 1year deal, with a low salary and who cares if he gets in trouble. anyways we have money to spend because according to another post we must spend 5mil. Who do we have right now on this roster that is better? Maybe Wilford but thats bout it. Ginn maybe in a couple of years but as of today no1 on this roster is better. Why would we give a 34year old WR a chance with MESSED up knees and not this guy who is YOUNG (good for rebuilding) and FULL of talant. i dont know bout you guys but we need all the help we can get. and this will make the rookies step up also because we only have space for about 5-6 receivers. so honestly think about the roster and the team, like i said who cares if he doesnt pan out what do we lose? well anyways just my 2 cents.

He has the cinci attitude. And that won't help our team at all. All of our people have a good attitude right now.

A thread on this very subject was moved to the General NFL section.

I will reply to the "we have nothing to lose" statement. If worse comes to worse and Goodell makes good on his threat, we run the risk of losing draft pick(s) by signing a player like Chris Henry and he gets in trouble again. If that is what you mean by not having anything to lose, then by all means sign him and give him a chance.

Henry will not be a problem during the season but it's the off-season that have me worried.

GeForce- please explain that losing draft picks, i have to admit i didnt know that. how does that work. and if thats the case i take back my comments. i just dont agree with signing Glenn other then mentoring the younger WRs.

The NFL are trying to find ways to make teams accountable for keeping troubled players on their rosters. They have tried suspension and fines but that doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. The next step is taking away draft picks, Tony Dungy believes this will get everyone's attention.

From Tony Dungy himself on the issue
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2832098
Tony Dungy said placing responsibility on the teams for their players and employees makes sense, even if it results in penalties that affect more than the wallet.

"That seems to be the thing that gets everyone's attention," the coach of the Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts said of potentially lost draft picks and player availability. "We talked about fines at the league meetings, and that may not do the trick. But when you start talking about playing time and draft picks, that seems to get your attention."

well thats news to me. that makes A LOT of sense and i have to say i agree. well then like i said before i take back my previous statements. but just wondering what your opinion is on the subject. would you give C.Henry a shot if we werent going to lose anything as in draft picks ect. if the dolphins organization doesnt lose anything would you or wouldnt you agree that we need some extra help at WR? my concern is that behind our top 2 WR =- Wilfor, Ginn there is no one worthy. Reports out of camp are the hagan is playing great but until preseason he is still in my book as a wasted pick. but thats just me.

If there was no risk of losing draft picks, yes I would be for bringing Henry in for a tryout. I would have very little worry about in regards to Henry during the season, it's just his off-season "alone" time that would have me on "pins and needles."

I swear to God I will cry if I see another Chris Henry thread.
