RONNIE BROWNs knock out of college was heatlh issues. And so far Brown has done little to quell those concerns. Year one, he misses one game to injury, year two he misses 3 games, year three he misses half a season.
Now hes trying to comeback from major reconstructive in less than a years time. He will not be Ronnie Brown of 2007 until 2009 or very late next year if he stays healthy. In my opinion, I do not think there is anyone in the league than runs harder than Brown WHEN healthy.

As far as Ricky Williams is concerned, his better years are behing him and he got hurt and knocked out for the year after like three carries in one game last year. This isn't even mentioning his off the field baggage. We would all be fools to trust this guy 100%. He is not on his second chance with Miami, this is like his third or fourth chance. I would not be shocked to see Parcells use this cancer as trade bait in April for a third or fourth rounder if its an option.

Yes on paper Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, and Booker appear to be a very deep and threatniging backfield, all I am doing is reminding people that its not as black and white clear cut as you think.

Many IFs must occur for this backfield to work for Miami, IF Brown can stay healthy for the first time in his college and NFL Career, IF Brown can return to his 2007 form, If Ricky can return to his form from 4 years ago, IF Ricky can stay out of trouble for once in his life.

Chatman was a hard runner and decent #2, so now the RB position is now less deep.

These IFs are the very reason why Parcells WILL draft a runningback at some point in this years draft. THe draft is very deep at runningback and Parcells will make sure he addresses the "Ifs."

As long as it is not with the #1 pick, I have no problems with drafting a running back this year.

I agree, and I imagine odds are very low that McFadden is heading our way, but you have to admit it would be exciting as hell! Im guessing either OT or DE Long will be picked with the first.

If Bill wanted an RB, he would have went after Michael Turner or Julius Jones..a 3rd rounder might be possible, but we have other GLARING NEEDS...OL..CB..QB..TE..OLB seem to be the priorities...can`t address them all in one draft.

When did he get hurt in College??? The knock on Ronnie was actually if he could carry the ball Full-Time. Obviously he can be productive but he cant stay healthy so I guess youre correct to an extent.

And yes he will draft a running back in the later rounds or dont rule out a trade involving Marion Barber.

Why give players like Turner and Jones a multimillion dollar contract when you can give a 4th round or later draft pick a quarter of that to be a backup and special team performer.

for the fact that you know what your getting with that multi million dollar deal...a 4th rounder can end up on the trash heap at the end of training camp and you don`t have the RB that you wanted

I can see us taking a runningback with a late first day or early second day pick. I was reading an article a while ago which stated that BP isn't big on taking runningbacks early in a draft. He feels you can get good value later in rounds 2-4. It makes sense if you have a good OLine. So I would guess that we'll shore up the OLine before we take a runningback. But I think the chances of us taking one are pretty good.

Ricky will need a back-up incase he is intentionally taken out again. Ronnie as he does every year since he held out for 32 million will probably be broke again and Booker isn't a every down back. I would rather wait and probaly pick up a FA unless Bill don't want o wait for Ronnie to be broke for his 4th consecutive year. Also for the Ricky doubters remember he is in a contract year and has more talent than any HB in the league.:woot:

Michael Turner was scheduled to visit Miami but there was no way he was going to get the kind of money from us that he got from Atlanta. Even with the questions that currently surrounds Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.

That 4th rounder can also end up being another Marion Barber.

Ricky Williams has what?? I`m pretty sure he`s not in the Tomlinson class of RB`s.

I disagree though we may pick one the RB and LB spots are where we are currently the deepest and though I could see Parcells still picking a LB espcially real high because that is what he has cone the past upteen years I see RB way down the list. We have 4 right now signed Brown, Williams, Books and Cobbs whom can all tote the ball I beleive. Yes I do agree that Brown is injury prone and was that way in college also which has been my knock on him but if used properly like he was his 1st year in the NFL and also in college with Caddliac he can be nursed through a whole year. You simply need to cut down his carries and receptions between Ricky and Booker. Ricky is a pounder but getting older he will need his rest and Booker is more of a pass catching threat out of the backfield than all 3 so thats how you run it this year. I expect that if we are going to have to address the RB position in the draft it will come next year along with the QB position if needed.

I prefer a proven work horse like Jones rather than get into a crap shoot at the draft...if Ray Rice is there in the 4th...pull the trigger...
